You are late in the year. I like cuttings that have just begun bud swell.
Option 1) buy one rooted plant for producing sticks in 2025. 2) try sticks with leaves but expect a low success rate. Heat drys the soil. Dry soil with out roots kills the cutting. Do you have a controlled misting chamber?
