AIO Head Space Eliminator - Large head space

I only have one 3-gallon carboy, but I have three 3-gallon port kits. It will take a while, especially since I like to bulk age.

I can speed up the process if I can use my 5-gallon carboys with the AIO Head Space Eliminator.

Any thoughts on using the HE with 1.5-2 gallons of head space in a 5 gallon carboy? I'm thinking with the F-pack and 1.125 liters of brandy (to fortify), I will have about 3.5 gallons in the 5 gallon carboy.

I've done it with no problems. I do a 5 gal in a 6 all the time and use the head space eliminator to help degas.

Jason, the head space eliminator and the all in one wine pump are 2 of my must have in my operation.

Rich -
You will definitely will reduce the amount of oxygen in the carboy by putting a constant vacuum on it - using the headspace eliminator.

Best practice would be to flood any large headspace with Co2 or a heavier gas and then add the headspace eliminator for extended periods of time.
