SG down to 1.012 today. Into secondary. Color not as “red” as I was hoping for. But I’m sure this will still be good. I haven’t really been disappointed by anything I’ve made so far except the failed coconut water experiment.
Same thing. It’s famous for red zinger tea. You can eat the Roselles fresh or garnish a salad. The seed I bought started out fine but they never flowered and now they are sick. I’ll hit the farmers market this fall and get some for seed.
its thunderstorm season here in Florida. Had a small issue with the feeezer losing power for a while. Most stuff was still cold or semi frozen but I had to clean it out to drain the defrosted ice.
had a lot of frozen mango in the bottom, which is good because none of my trees produced this year...
I’ve made plenty of passion fruit wine (there actually is quite a bit of juice in them) but not the flowers since the fruit comes from right below the flower. I used about 85 plumeria flowers for a gallon of wine so you would probably need that many. I don’t recall them having a fragrance
I’ve done that twice now with my bigger batches. I save the gross lees add some new juice or sugar a little yeast and it does make some great Frankenwine.

I knew a guy who fermented cherry wine in 50 gallon crocks. i was more impressed by anyone having a 50 gallon crock. Probably originated in a tannery in Gloversville. 🤣
I had a friend (outlaw family member as well) who is proficient at everything. (Violin making, languages, woodworking etc) who made wines. He even made a mango wine from mango Snapple. I watched him and even wrote down directions. I never tried because I needed to buy nutrient, pectic enzyme...
I’ve got one bottle that isn’t labeled. It looks beautiful. Usually I put a mark on the bottle with a sharpie to help identify but we all miss one now and then. Kind of like a wine mystery bottle
at least we have an advantage over wild mushroom picker hobbyists. Wine probably not deadly if we...
Forget the coconuts. Been there done that didn’t work. Mango is my go to fruit. Any frozen fruit or fruit combo works well also. Depends on what is in plentiful supply. Plums, pears strawberries, mango, peaches, heck even grapes make wine.
