Woo Hoo - New Plumeria Batch !

3 week racking. Now it‘s going to sit in the fermenting cellar (closet) for 3 months. It only went down to 0.999 but it really tastes good. smooth no bitter or strong taste. Almost tastes like a finished wine already

    Weird particles

Since it’s only that one bottle it’s quite probable. it looks a lot like it was once dried film

    Burdock and Dandelion wine?

Burdock root should be no more than 1 year old. Newer roots are better. It’s similar to celery and goes great in salads

Eastern Redbud - I'm going for it!

Best raspberry wine I ever tasted was Hosmer Winery (Cayuga Lake) “Raspberry Rhapsody with Cayuga white grapes and fresh raspberries. It was obviously heavy backsweetened but some day when raspberries go on sale I’ll try to make some since redbuds don’t grow down here. We will be making...

    Best Corker Recommendations

Didn’t I recently read here someone who added a little wider washer or something on their plunger that did away with the dented corks ? I would worry a bit about hitting the bottle though.

Woo Hoo - New Plumeria Batch !

this year the raisins were golden and not brown with age. I used grape juice instead of hibiscus tea. It’s looking nice and yellow. I tossed in a few slices of frozen mango so the yeast had something substantial to chew on. 4 lbs of sugar and its at starting SG 1.10

Woo Hoo - New Plumeria Batch !

They’ve been blooming for a couple of weeks they usually have a bunch of flowers for a month or more they get new blossoms every day. I lost probably half my plants in the hurricane though. they don’t dry well or else I send you some dry ones. they just brown up in no time.

Woo Hoo - New Plumeria Batch !

Daughter called and said her big Plumeria shrub fell over in todays rainstorm. “Come save it” So I stood it back up and tied it off and proceeded to de-nude it of blossoms. Came back across the street and checked the few plumeria I had left and sure enough I had enough for a 2 gallon batch...

Anybody with Loquat wine experience ?

I use ec1118 almost exclusively. Bulletproof. The 8 pounds made a 3 gallon batch. Probably need 2 to 3 pounds per gallon. They don’t make a lot of liquid by themselves that’s why I think pear juice might go well. I had a lot of loquats too last year. Thisyear after the hurricane I got about...

Anybody with Loquat wine experience ?

It is a nice balanced dry wine. several months ago I made a 75% loquat 25% mango wine. It was better than the 100% loquat. I’m going to look at my notes for the recipe I followed. I picked and peeled as they ripened and put them in the freezer until I had more than enough. I used 8 lbs of...
