    Beginner Plum Wine

When asking questions please have as much information on hand before posting. Do you have an hydrometer? What is the starting specific gravity? what is it now? Temperatures, then and now. I hope to get your mind wrapped around what to look for and when. It has taken me years to think...

    Vacuum pump pressure

@back2it : Try using a drop of glycerin to lubricate the racking cane when inserting into a bung. Maybe you can purchase a set of cork drills to cut holes in solid cork to suit your needs. Cork drills are hollow tubes of different diameters sharpened on the inside end to cut the cork/silicone...

@ibglowin : Imagine doing this 2 to 4 times a day for 30 days. I served on burial detail at Lowry AFB, CO in the late 60s. Humbling . . . . and jerks on the heart strings.

    Re-corking?

With all this discussion on corkng/recorking has anyone thought about waxing the cork end of the bottle? What would the effect be on the wine? I am no expert on wine making as in all the years I have making wine, the oldest bottle ever had was a 7 yo elderberry that got lost.

    Peach Jalapeño Wine

Beware the seeds! Have made two batches of Jalapeno wine. First one was great, the second one was hotter than Hades. The difference between the two were the amount of seeds I let into the ferment. The first one had almost no seeds, great flavor, some heat.

Hoses clip for All In One vacuum pump

Well, here's my two cents. I sent the link to my son so he could print the blocks. he printed 4, two of which I broke trying to get the 3/8" tubing to seat in the slot. The outside walls are too thin as he printed them. I am going to talk with him to see if he can modify the print file.

@Dashwig: Welcome aboard New Zealander to the WMT express. This place is loaded with all kinds of answers, tips, tricks and suggestions. One tip I will mention right off is get yourself a hydrometer, two preferably as they are fragile. Just don't look at them cross-eyed, they will shatter.
