Yes - That is correct I did noticed if I put a flow control valve in - even in the full open position - it was enough restriction to slow down the momentum and not have the power to compress the cork and push it in.

I personally disagree , I tried many gauges and all of them would not hold vacuum properly for a given time period.

I been working on this for a bit and is working very efficiency. I still need to put it thru more bottling. I'm not sure if I will be selling them - this one has no guards in place as of yet. It definitely could use some safety protection designed into it.

I found that a vacuum gauge will leak over time. That is the only reason I went with a sealed bulb design.

I took this from the website = the vacuum indicator for suction. If it is collapsed you know that you have more than 10 inches of vacuum. If the bulb is inflated then you have less than 10 inches of vacuum.

I will purge the headspace with a heavier gas to displace the oxygen - then put and keep it under vacuum - sucking out all the unwanted air and pulling out more CO2 from the wine at the same time using the headspace eliminator.
