At the top of this beginners page there is a thread with winemaking terms. Bet that should do for most of the definitions you want. Next thread up from there is how to use a hydrometer. Read that, at least how to use it. @Scooter68 has a pretty good set of instructions on here how to get...

Not recomending this but if I was in your shoes, I would just throw them in leave them sit for a couple of weeks and taste it. See if they should sit a bit longer or pull them out. This will most likely cloud your wine back up, so you will probably have to let it sit and clear again. Arne.
Maybe it is time to make an extra gallon, when in carboys have the gallon sitting alongside with a sign that says sample here. You can always have a little sample and something to top up with. Arne.
Not above freezing but the sun is shining. Melting a little of the snow, maybe one of these days we will get to plant things again. Arne. Just noticed after posting, been on here a long time. 5000 posts. Hope to be around for another 5000. Arne.

Think Rice Guy is spot on. If it was me, I would use the first suggestion. You are basically starting out again, If you try and cool it down you can run into problems with it not wanting to finish fermenting. For your first try I would suggest letting it ferment dry, stabilize it with k-meta...
Hope it warms up so you can get things thawed out. We had a bit of a break last night. 2 degrees at bedtime and 6 this morning. That is above zero that 20 below was a bit much the night before. We will see how things go today. Hope the wind stays down or we will have ground blizzards for...
