I AM A NEWBIE FOR JOE’S ANCIENT ORANGE RECIPE:

I have only made it one time. Thought when it was newly born that it tasted like sin. Had one bottle that got stuck away for a few years, it came out really good. With mine, aging worked wonders. You dont have to heat the honey. That being said, maybe warm it just a bit so it will mix with...

    first wine Panic, help!

As bossbaby said, let it sit for a while. Next time you taste it, little taste, add some sugar and little taste add again if it helps. Newborn alcohol is pretty sharp, when it ages a bit it mellows out. If you decide to sweeten the whole batch, let it clear then add k-meta and pot. sorbate...

@hounddawg there is your rust problem on your crabapples. Guess I have known cedars produce the rust but didn't think about it. Just something I have known since I was a kid, didn't know the reason for it. Thanks, @olusteebus . Arne.

    Blackberry

yep, temperature will do it to you. Was just going to ask about that. Basement floors are cold and sometimes it doesnt take much cooler to stop things. I always set my primaries on wood when on the basement floor. My temps tend to bounce around some. Should have enough nutrient in that 6...

    Apple Wine Turns Out Sparkling

Still think mine was the result of old sorbate. Everything was clear and degassed. Course mite of been the result of no sorbate. Been a long time ago, but could of been sampling a bit much before bottling. LOL, Arne.

    traditional vs country,

Bet I know where you can get some plants. I spend a lot of time at Glen Elder. If you are headed up north sometime let me know and I could bring a few down with me. Few years and you can have an endless supply of them. Arne.
