    traditional vs country,

Here is the deal. Doesnt matter. You are making the wines for yourself and maybe for the pleasure of others. If you like the product doesn't matter what you call it. Nobody is telling you you have to make it this way or that. Folks here will try and help you improve what you are doing but in...

    Chokecherry Wine Yeast Question

I used the cote des blanc on chokecherry last year and it came out fine. In fact drinking some right now. Used montrachet and developed a bad rotton egg smell with it. It has a reputation for that. Don't really believe it is the yeasts fault, just need the proper nutritions with it so it...

    traditional vs country,

Maybe you ought to get a batch of grapes and try them out. Ferments are pretty much the same fruits or grapes. Oh, newsflash, grapes are a fruit. :h Arne.

Skeeter is now my best seller

I usually add the rest of the lemon any time after the ferment is 2/3 done. Don't believe I have ever added pectic enzime to a batch of skeeter pee. It clears nicely with time or sparkaloid if in a hurry. Arne.

Got my first in Dec. second in Jan. Sore arm and didn't feel quite right the day after the first one. Since then, fine. And have decided to wear the mask from now on, at least during the winter. Have not been out in public much, but when we have both Kathy and I have been wearing a mask...

What is in red wine that gives that warming throat feeling

I'm thinking it might be sugar. After the yeast chews it up and spits it out turns it into alcohol. Arne.

    beautiful day,,,

Use the grill year around. When cold, only outside to turn whatever I am grilling. Have been experimenting with some homemade charcoal. Burns rather fast, high heat. Actually like the way it works. Google homemade charcoal, lots of different ways to make it. And @ houndawg, glad to have...

Decanted to carboys and not fermenting

First thing, what is your specific gravity? If it stays the same for at least 3 days and is below 1.000 the ferment is done. If it is higher than that, what was the origional gravity on the ferment. If it was high, you could still be done and have sugar left, but the alcohol is high enough...
