Front yard is finished except for finding a couple specimen type plants and lower yard is scheduled for two weeks from now, but, now the corner/side yard looks old and run down by comparison. So it looks like we might as well have that freshened up at the same time. Should realistically be good...

I went out to shoot a night shot of our old town main street at 2:00am yesterday for a dark skies pamphlet I'm doing for the city. Got the shot just fine then on the way home I came across this gas station and thought it looked really cool under the full moon and scattered clouds.

13 tons of new rock to cover the hillside arrived yesterday. Slightly different color and larger size than the existing stuff. Crew will be here tomorrow am to spread and smooth. A couple of tons will go to the corner yard where they created a decorative mound/island thingy that will also get a...

    What R you doing today?

Yes Jim, we were quoted 16,000 for the job originally so Lori suggested considering the DIY approach. YouTube as my supervisor and Lori as a cheerleader and another successful project complete.

    What R you doing today?

Well we're finally done with the RV roof replacement. Approximately 4 weeks I think and $3,000 I think, I kinda lost track of both along the way. Upgraded the antenna, shower skylite and vent covers while I was at it. Scheduled to leave for So. Cal. Monday morning. Wish us luck on maiden voyage...

    What's for Dinner?

My wife says shrimp and chicken don’t count as surf and turf. I disagree.

While not finished yet here's an in-progress pic of our front yard. Last year's monsoons were very intense. Lots of flooding, roof had to be replaced due to hail and wind damage from two storms just a week apart. Runoff from the hills across the street eroded channels into our hill side almost a...

...AND, in retrospect, I'll bet the old dryer was fine, just blocked from working... oh well the new ones are all shiny and sparkly....

    What R you doing today?

Last week our clothes dryer pretty much stopped working, 3 hours running and clothes still damp. We've been promising ourselves a stacked set when the time came so it was a perfect excuse. The new set was delivered, installed, quickly tested and the crew was on its way. We ran the self...

    What's for Dinner?

Well not every attempt at something new works out. Hung a chicken over the kettle and cooked about 3 hours. Temp readings looked good but once cut up it actually needed more time. Finishing in oven now.

looks like a fairly rural area course. Our local course costs around 35.00 a round and another 5 or 10 for a cart. Think it's time to give the game a try again. Looks like fun.

    What R you doing today?

Good news, bad news on our motorhome. Insurance won't cover the cost citing poor quality work by the dealer and the dealer won't stand behind their warranty because it blew off 3 weeks after the 1 year warranty. We were quoted $16,000 and an unknown amount of months by the dealer which of course...

    What's for Dinner?

Ribeye roast on sale at 4.95lb. so I thought I’d give butchering my own steaks a shot. Ended up with 10 plus a 5lb prime rib. Chopped up asparagus, covered with fresh bread crumbs and parm in cast iron. Add a local merlot and you’ve got a pretty nice meal.

    What R you doing today?

So it looks like tomorrow they're framing up for a 12x30' concrete pad for the motorhome and a small 3x3' pad in front of the breaker box on the side of the house. We're also having them frame up for steps down that side because it's pretty steep and I've ended up on my butt more than once...

    What's for Dinner?

Grilled a couple of thick bone-in chops last night. A little rice and brussels sprouts and a bit of a pretty generic red blend. I threw the point end of a brisket in the smoker on the way to bed around 10:00 last night and it's close to being ready to pull and rest right now.
