    What's for Dinner?

Now I gotta make the same recipe, with a 3 day old dough since I'll be a bachelor on Saturday afternoon/evening/night. Thinking of switching up and using some Hatch chiles that I just parched on the grill, they would add a nice flavor, maybe a base white sauce (cream/mushroom) instead of tomato...

    What's for Dinner?

Now that the wifey is a nurse, she's got the "fun" schedule. So far all daytime shifts (7 am to 7:30 pm), eventually will go 7 pm to 7:30 am towards the end of August. She's still training at this point. So little (lol) 'ol me is stuck at home making dinner for one most of the time (daughter...

    What's for Dinner?

It's Friday! Fish day! Since my wife passed her nursing boards and started a new job, she's rarely around for dinner (7am-730pm today, 7pm-7:30am other shift). So, not so fun (especially when she goes on overnights soon, haven't slept w/o her for 30+ years for more than 2 nights in a row)...

    Hello from Alaska

@MacLean welcome! What part of Alaska do you hail from? My Son is currently stationed near Fairbanks/North Pole, he loves it there (just sent me an image of a bunch of trout he just caught today).

    What R you doing today?

Celebrating that my wife passed her NCLEX nursing boards on the first try after 10 years of part time schooling. She's celebrating by taking the dog to the vet, I'm taking my youngest daughter to work, lol. Got her a bottle of her favorite commercial blueberry wine (Moon Dog Cellars Murphy's...

    What's for Dinner?

Finally nice enough on a weekend day to do an outdoor pizza cook. Does take a bit of fuel, did 4 pizzas in all. Smaller since the stone only takes about a 14" pizza max. Yum!

    What's for Dinner?

We've got warmer weather coming on the way, next week should be 90s with much higher humidity. Currently it is 77*F with a dewpoint of 52*, so very nice and dry, was refreshing this morning (50* when I left for work). So, had to take advantage of that (took 1/2 day at work) to get some much...

    What R you doing today?

Bought a new car back in February. Had a corolla that had a bit of rust, too expensive to fix it (was a 2008 just shy of 300K miles). So was lucky enough that my dealer had another one, black, not my favorite color, but it's a hybrid (currently 64.6 mpg) and a very nice car. Since it was...

    What's for Dinner?

@vinny , your chicken looked good, so since it's so nice here today (high 70s, nice breeze, no clouds, low humidity) I decided I needed to grill one of those. Yum!

The secret life of a winemaker

I was gonna say, I like the color of your pump better than my white one, guess I could paint mine...

    What's for Dinner?

My wife and I rented that movie when we were dating, I played the clip, she's out in the family room, and she called out the movie in about 3 seconds flat, lol.

    What's for Dinner?

Gotta do something on a smoker for Memorial Day weekend....even an electric smoker. Pop up T-storms here and there, so I decided on the electric route since I can pull that under a garage overhang and keep it dry. Ribs, GF mac 'n cheese, corn. Yum! Foiled the ribs the last 45 minutes, used...

    The Bread Thread

I go two weeks all the time, but the bottom of my fridge is close to 32*F. My current starter was started in March of 2020 during covid (I couldn't let @ibglowin have all the fun). It is quite pungent now and does a good job, all on its own, on overnight pizza dough recipes...

    Post a photo, any photo

He said it was in the 60s the other day (we did a video chat from his back yard as he was smoking a hunk of beef). He's actually in North Pole, which is a little SE of Fairbanks, works at the base in Fairbanks. He loves it there, except for when his oil and propane freeze in the winter...

My older brother picked a good day to attend a game in person (with his Wife, Son and new Daughter-In-Law). Though lately you've got a pretty good chance of watching the Phillies win... Hardest part is securing tickets, a few sell-outs at home lately, they had 44K+ today.

    What's for Dinner?

Crappy day for May around here. Fired up the oven an made a few personal pan pizzas (8 inchers). Dough for crusts spent the night in the fridge like I normally do...

My Son who is stationed with the USAF in Alaska sent a couple of pictures. He and his buddies are camping over the weekend. Not sure of the river name, but I'm sure it's only about an hour or so out of Fairbanks. Might have to make a postcard out of one of them. Edit: my Son just texted...

    What's for Dinner?

Yea, as my wife has moved into the medical field from the law field, I have become the major food buyer. For me it's just fun to find the best discounts and take advantage of anything the store gives you to reduce costs (coupons, holiday "free" items, etc). With my oldest son and daughter moving...
