I understand that they wanted to correct it, but they could have simply sold them with a disclaimer regarding the color, rather than pulling them. I have never had any issues with LP, pricing or otherwise.

Yes, I am signed up for the discount. But regardless of that, their pricing hasn't really changed. The Tavola Zin with double skins I ordered back in May of 2021 is only $3 more as of today.

In my case it was two med+ spirals in one carboy, which created a nice Chateau du Plywood. The oak mellowed out over time, so it wasn't a loss, just a lesson.

I over oaked once or twice with spirals back when I was still figuring things out. . They seem to be the most efficient way to oak, but a pain to retrieve from the carboy unless you break them into smaller pieces. After some time I switched to Xoakers which are the easiest to deal with, but...

I'm not seeing any difference in the volume of the juice between Tavola and Forte kits. I've had to add the exact same amount of water to each. The Forte may be more concentrated than the Tavola, but volume appears to be identical. Either way, I'm loving these so far!

I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of us skip the finings altogether. Rack it into another carboy every three months (adding So2 each time) until you stop seeing sediment on the bottom of the carboy you're racking out of. When you no longer see sediment, or it's very minimal, it's ready to bottle.

We use our well water filtered with a decent RO system.

I've only done three so far, but early results have been noticeably better than the best kits from other brands. Nose and varietal character are much more pronounced.
