    WE Island Mist Tweaks

I do them kinda like @joeswine suggests. Two cans of frozen white grape juice concentrate plus whatever amount of sugar to boost the Starting SG. So far in the 5-6 mist type wines I've done I've used all the fpac or whatever its called as per kit instructions. All the wines so far have been well...

I live about 10 miles outside of Wellsboro, PA. Wellsboro held a Winters Celebration Day to attract folks to come to town. Main attractions for the day, as I saw it, was the cars that would be in the Winter RallySprint, ice carving, arts and crafts and chile tasting. If I got it right for the...

How to up the alcohol % on a white wine kit

Maybe a can of frozen white grape juice concentrate and then some sugar to hit your target starting SG? My thinking is that the juice will help hold the balance.

Lonely bench just off the trail in Hills Creek State Park. Just waiting for the summer when two teenagers meet, their families camping at the park, to walk the trail, to sit down,to hold hands and maybe to share their first kiss...

    Hello from Delaware

Welcome to the forum! Sorry I can't personally help you as I just do kits and fruit wines. Probably help if you asked a few questions with more specificity.

skins in a bag vs free floating

I bag. Remember once not doing so and having to reach down into the pale in order to free the auto siphon tip from continuous clogging. Bag loosely then punch down and squeeze once or twice a day while in primary to get most of the goodies extracted is what I do.

Yet again our morning "puppy hike" found Sadie and I in PA Game Lands #37. Took a picture of Crooked Creek [I'm beginning to understand how this creek got its name] and a bloody spot on the ground where some small critter, I'm guessing a rabbit, recently lost its life...

    Bottling in advance of moving

Are you moving them yourself? When I used a moving company 3 years ago they would move guns, with the proper paper work, but not wine. I was told however that boxes labeled "marinate" would not be an issue. Rater than bend/break the rules I moved my wine myself from CT to PA. They were in...

    corks to old?

What about synthetics? I'm guessing they would last longer, yes? BTW, guess I was lucky because I've used amalgamate corks that were 3-4 years old with no issues of which I'm aware.

    New guy in CT

Welcome to to the forum Steve! Very nice intro BTW. What town in Ct are you from? I grew up summers in Oxford, CT starting in 1945. Moved to Southbury, from NYC, to become a full time resident in 1976. Left CT 3 years ago to move to PA. CT taxes on retirement income was/is brutal.

Just my opinion... Instead of the standing figure I think a nude in repose would have worked better.
