    John, Thanks for your tip on your barrel stand, I just finished mine and added casters, makes it real easy for me to roll it out to clean and rack.

    Looks like a similar size room, I finished mine last year, all 3 walls are below grade, the inside wall I insulated. the room keeps a constant 65 air tempo and 70% humidity.

    Tested the MLF after another 2 weeks Cab is good to put to sleep in the oak barrel, I'm thinking another few weeks for the zin. What do you think?

    Nice stand I'm thinking about making one similar but adding some casters. What size did you make it, what type or oak did you use looks like 1x 12"? & 1x4"

    4 weeks into MLF another test shows the Cab is just about completed but the Zin doesn't look like its moved in 2 weeks any thoughts or suggestions, let it go another 2 weeks? and test again, Room temp is 70, I have stirred one per week, PH is 3.65 no sulfate since initial dose before primary AF

    I have no problem pumping from 1 tank to another, I made a racking tube out of 3/4 PVC connect to the 4' vinyl hose, and another discharge tube connected to a 4' vinyl hose, I do pour some wine into the intake hose before I connect it, pulls a prime and pumps like a champ.     Would like to see your exact setup, I have 500 bottles I need to file in July so I'm looking at my options, right now the AIO wine pump seems like a cost effective practical option.

    Yeah... Like said I'm not sure why I started doing it ???. But I will Stop the Madness and definitely NOT wash them next season. Thanks again for great grape advise. How about another question whats everyone using for bottling I have to 500 bottles to fill next year this time.

    Just curious how many of us wash your grapes before you crush. I started washing grapes a few years ago, never did this the prior 8 years, but for some reason to which I can't remember why, maybe I read it somewhere, I started washing the grapes with non chlorinated water before I crush them...
