    Today was step one of making grape jelly.Our youngest gave us 10 gal.of concord grapes for babysitting while they were away this past week.Got 3 1/4 gal grape juice. Tomorrow is jelly making time. (sometimes I use fruit for things other than wine!lol)

    I wouldn't top up.With fruits I have been taught to use 7-10 lbs per gal(usually) so I think you're good as is.Can you find a 3 Gal carboy and a 1gal.? You could then use the 1 gal for top ups as the other clears. What was you starting SG and SG when you racked?

    I found that I could do that as well on some.Others though are just too big. The flange ones actually fit over champagne bottles.( I ended up with some and since I don't carbonate I use them as spares for my wine)
