    WineXpert Label Peeler Promotions

LP prices on Eclipse kits for the past 2 years or so have been $130 +/- with shipping. A couple other places have similar prices. My LBS sells them $189 no shipping. Never any promotions. I've made all the eclipse kits except the merlot. All were good. Lodi Zin and Sauvignon Blanc my...

    2018 Grape Season Underway

Yup, they were all co-inoc with the same type of MLB. I'm going to do a second test tomorrow to confirm. But yah the more I look at this the more it looks like everything could be done. I'm not feeling confident since I didn't catch it at it's optimal time. I was going to call Gino's this...

    2018 Grape Season Underway

Did a chromotagraphy the other morning, took a photo when it wasn't completely dry. By the time I got home later that day, the sheet was solid blue. Could not read. Will do another test this week. But from this I'm reading that the Aus cab, PS and Nebiollo still have a bit of malo to go...

    Weird aroma after malo

I had a problem malbec in spring 2017 that took two Reduless applications to get the stink out. It's better than using straight copper(Reduless contains a controlled amount of copper). But if the copper pipe didn't correct your problem you might have a somewhat different issue.

    Weird aroma after malo

I've never had off odors from MLF, and from my experience sangio goes through MLF quicker than some other grapes. Did you use any malo nutirents? I would splash rack this once or twice and see if the odor still lingers.

    What R you doing today?

Each year it's harder, there are many plants that are fine outside over winter, but the boston ferns, black cala lillies, etc, need to come in but they keep on expanding to more pots. Many shelves, hooks, etc for the plants some suffered last year do to lack of light, probably should get some...

    What R you doing today?

Lot's of people here getting grapes and crushing today. many good wines to come. Mine are bulk aging finishing different stages of MLF. So what's this lucky devil doing today? Up on my third floor roof fixing leaks and then putting a fresh silver sealer coat on. But I did take a few photos...

    No More Grapes/Juice from Harford

Actually Fred has been the top seller of a Hungarian barrel pyramid scheme. He got in early and rode the barrel wave. Hawking to all us unsuspecting winemakingtalk sheep and gathering disciples for his downstream revenue. My bet is he's going over to lead their barrel selling seminar on...

When is a wine ready to drink

My experience with kits and grapes is similar to @Johnd, not quite as extensive but similar. The only reason I could see that kit manufacturers getting better grapes/juice would be their buying power with volume and probably only on the premium kits. From california and chile I have gotten...

    Blending Technique Poll

I've mainly done field blends the past few years and has worked quite well, but this year I have about 9 varietals that are in various stages of aging. Planning to do more structured blending trials with these.
