Going to get the Meglioli Riesling out of the primary tonight. It’s been a little over 2 weeks. The QA23 did a great job. Been at .992 for 2 days. Smells fantastic.

I paid $40 each for shipping to Pa. Got my email they went out yesterday and will be here Friday.

Was able to find 2 new 5 gal med toast not char wine barrels from The Barrel Mill and then are on their way.

Unfortunately these barrels were listed as medium char and not med toast. I did cancel the order. Really disappointed as I was pretty happy to have had these coming.

After reading a few posts I noticed that these barrels come from a company that others deal with. They are Am M Toast. I went ahead and ordered 2 of them

I came across some emptied bourbon barrels on Amazon. They are American oak, I would probably guess light toast or neutral. Is a used bourbon barrel ok to use to age wine?

I just made a VR Diablo Rojo that is drinkable at 2 months. I’m going to let it sit a while longer. Depending on how much of the Fpack you use you can make it pretty sweet. I used half and it’s off dry

Thanks guys. Only reason I have not taken any readings is that I did not want to open either back up. I used BM 4x4 on both and both were at 1.02 and given 1/2 dose of Fermaid O before seal up. I plan to leave the smaller WV Kit 1 more week and the Trio Red 3 more

Is it common after 3 weeks to see the airlock completely closed, no sign of co2?, or should I get it out of the primary because this is a sign on there not being enough to protect it another few weeks. I sealed them both after a week. One I planned to go 4 weeks which is in a normal fermenting...

Don’t think I’ve ever had a kit in 7 weeks taste like this Diablo Rojo. Im not saying by any means it’s great, it’s definitely not, but it does not have that young wine kit taste at all. Hopefully in a couple months I’ll like it more but I think most would call this drinkable.

The Italian Primitivo was also very very good before discontinued. Makes me believe the Italian Zin in the EP Series would be great.
