I just pitched QA23 on a Finger Lakes Riesling Meglioli this afternoon. It contained white raisins. I’m going to leave it in the primary for 4 weeks. I know Whites don’t need a EM but overall it will be a much easier process to just let it go completely dry in the primary and skip the racking.

Swapped EC1118 for BM 4x4 in a RJS EP Trio Red yesterday. Rehydrated in water and added 1 TBS of Fermax Nutrient to help it get going and have Fermaid O on hand for next treatment now. This sound ok? First I’ve used it. Thanks.

Used my new AIO wine pump to do some racking for the first time last night. This thing is just great. As simple as can be to use, makes things so much easier, cleaner and safer that I could not recommend it enough. Thanks for the advice on this, it’s worth every penny to me.

Just measured mine off and that’s where it definitely falls out. That makes it nice. I did neatly mark it every gallon though. Really has quite a bit of head space.

I forgot after being out of winemaking for a while just how much I dislike degassing using a mix stir or wine whip. I’d like to buy a good vacuum pump to do the job but not something that will bust the bank. Can someone please recommend one?
