    Wine press on amazon

This happened about five years ago and the price kept going down until it hit about $89. Lots of folks were waiting till next payday to buy and all of a sudden the price bumped back up to over $300. Just saying, grab it while the grabbing is good.

    Seal Wax - Heat Gun?

I have about 8 different colors of was. I use a cheap hot plate. I bought a cheap $4.00 sauce pan for each color so there is no clean up or waste. I also bought a pack of about 8 spoons for just a couple dollars at Walmart. again no clean up. With so many different colors you can also blend a...

Weight of grapes to grape juice conversion

There is no way anyone can say this is accurate. Each grape variety produces a different amount of juice that varies greatly. Additionally it depends on when they are harvested and the season. Another huge part of this is the person doing the pressing and the press itself. If you are doing...

Advice regarding Weighing down grape skins

Do not weigh down the grape skins. You just punch them down several times a day. Eventually as the fermentation ends the skins will fall on their own.

    Wine on tap

I put a Blackberry kit wine in a kegerator several times. In my opinion it took the cheap kit from "0" to hero. Only issue was the kegerator was in my garage in the summer so when working outside it was an awesome refreshing drink that went to your head reall quick when you drank it for thirst...

    I hate my thermometers

I use inferred also but what is all the big deal about temperature anyways. What is it going to do to make your winemaking any better. About the only time I use mine is for making yeast cultures. Your Hydrometer and ph meter are your real friends. On the flip side it is interesting to watch your...
