    Peach Wine Too Sweet

I haven't taken it yet since I racked it off the lees. Kit didn't ask for it and until I tasted it I wasn't going to but I will to see.

    Peach Wine Too Sweet

It came with a back sweetening kit. I assume that's where it got the extra sweetness. Other than just drinking it is there any other way to dry it out? I think pitching the yeast again might just slow the yeast down. Too much alcohol for them?

    Peach Wine Too Sweet

I fermented this peach wine down to .998 and stayed there for 4 days before I racked it off but it's still a bit too sweet. Wife says it's awesome but too sweet and only good for dessert wine but is there a way to make this one a bit more dry?

    Leaves Turning Brown

I've tried castor oil mixed with water/soap and sprayed all over during the rain. Put out granules and all does nothing to stop them. I have not tried the beans but the oil was 100% oil and I did a 50/50 with water. Doesn't affect them. Tried those sonar/beeping things and they just put mounds...

    Leaves Turning Brown

I hope so. Now i just need to figure out how to get rid of the moles. Nothing seems to work. They are popping mounds right next to the vines. Seems to me that it could dry them out.

    Leaves Turning Brown

I'll do another pass today and check that out. Is that normal for vines that have been in tubes?

    Leaves Turning Brown

I've been out there about every 3 days and didn't notice any bugs on the vines. The only thing that happened was the vines were growing past the protective grow tubes so I removed the tubes and tied them loosely to the stakes.

    Leaves Turning Brown

Not downy mildew. I spray it every two weeks with Serenade. I'm wondering if it's Pierces disease.

    Leaves Turning Brown

Hey guys, can someone tell me what this might be? This is happening to all of the vines. I water once every 7 days for 2 hours with a 2GPH emitter. Just can't figure out what is happening here.

    Broken Corks/Bottle Tops

Soaked the corks in Star san solution for 20 minutes then bottled. I used the attached cork screw. Not only are the bottle tops breaking but many of the corks are crumbling. I stopped using the attached cork screw and now I'm using the winged cork screw but the corks are still crumbling. Now I'm...

    Broken Corks/Bottle Tops

Does anyone else recommend the Nomacorc #9 synthetic corks? The corks I have from Amazon are the Tebery #8 Natural Wine Corks which 80% are crumbling trying to pull out.

    Broken Corks/Bottle Tops

No, they are cork bottles from North Mountain Supply. I've never had this happen ever and been drinking wine for way too long. lol. I have had some success with warm water on the neck but the bottles call for #8 cork and that's what I got. I was just wondering if it was related to just being...

    Broken Corks/Bottle Tops

I have bottled roughly 24 bottles of Rose yesterday and put them in the fridge. Today I tried to pull the cork out of 5 and it broke the bottle tops. Is it normal for corks to get really stuck in there or am I missing something?

    Thanks Salcoco.

    Head Training Young Vines

I have newly planted Pinot Noir grapes and my fruiting wire is at 31 inches and the tips are approaching the fruiting wire so it's time I should be thinking about head training them but I'm a bit confused on if I should be doing this. The shoots are not pencil width so not sure if I should be...

    After Fermentation/Stabilization

I'm only doing CS to push out the tartrate crystals before bottling. I've read that other users of this kit had them in their bottles so I wanted to push them out and rack it all before bottling. I assume this is a good idea if others had it happen in bottle. The question then becomes since I...

    After Fermentation/Stabilization

So the question I have is once fermentation and Stabilization is done. The direction say store in a cool place for a couple weeks (Day 35). The wine is already crystal clear so I'm assuming that's why they want it in a cool dry place for a couple weeks. I have airlock on it and there are no...

    Sparkling Wine and Corks

This is a two part question and thank you in advance for all of your feedback. This forum has helped me tremendously. 1. What are your best tips/steps for turning still wine into sparkling wine? 2. Would you use a cork on a sparkling wine bottle? Reason I ask is that I don't have any wine...

    Blowoff Tubes

Thanks. So 3 days into this my thoughts are that it should be this active but I'm no expert. How long can I expect this very active crazy fermentation to last?
