    The first time I made the Stag's Leap district Merlot, it was called the "estate series" and it was very good. When it became the Eclipse, it was delicious! I made the "private reserve" version several times, hoping it would get better, but it didn't, leading to my (eventual) quitting making kit...

    Currants, vanilla and a hint of plums on the nose. Licorice and dark cherries and a bit of chocolate on the pallate. Well extracted for an inexpensive wine. I bought 2 more. 14.5%

    Mission Hill 2020 reserve syrah. Pepper, black currants, cherries and a hint of sage on the nose. Black cherries, dark chocolate, currants and pepper on the pallate. Deep inky dark wine. Very bold. My mouth thinks it is a cab! 14%

    It was kinda nice that day. We live a bit south of there. This was me at the end of a 5km walk Feb 9,2019. Record cold day of - 42.3°C (about the same as F) good habits are hard to break.

    Our little city of 35000 has lots of green spaces and lots of wildlife. These mule deer are in my next door neighbor's driveway. I have seen moose, red fox, and coyotes in city limits. There have been reports of cougars but I have never seen one.

    At first glance, I thought "Ward 8" would be the area of the hospital that you would go to be treated for having too many of those concoctions. The history is much more interesting! It's also another indicator that you are not clueless at all.

    Horn rimmed glasses. Served the purpose of holding heavy prescriptions in the 60s. By the 90s,and now when high index plastic lenses have been available, they're just ugly. But ugly is the new chic!

    Being renowned as an anti-occasion person at the grocery store, when I brought these to the checkout, the woman looked at me and said "what did you do!?"

    I have begun buying wines on sale. This one has aromas and flavours of black cherries and vanilla and currants. Maybe a plum or two. 14.5%

    Meanwhile, back in the Okanagan, Hester Creek's old vine merlot is one of my favourite wines. Aromas and flavours of cherries, cocoa and mocha. Very intense! 14.6%.

    I like Zin! This one has pepper and cherries on the nose, and cherries, strawberries and ? Spices on the pallate. 13.5 %.
