It says country of origin is Italy. I don't know if that grape is grown in regions other than Sicily.

    Juice Buckets

I have made 2 kits of Nero D'Avola (2019 and 2020) and have the third one in the clearing stage. It is my favorite.

    Juice Buckets

I got the Mosti Mondiale Nero D'Avola kit this year from Texas Brewing. But they are all out of that kit. Yes, it is a kit, because it has the yeast, the nutrient, and all of the other chemicals/additives. But the kit contains a full 6 gallons of juice, it hasn't been concentrated. And it...

    Other red wine kits poll

The first two Nero D'Avola kits I ordered from Musto Wine Grape Company for $99 a kit (now $119). But I live so far from them (Connecticut to Tucson, Arizona) and shipping costs just kept going up. $40 in 2019, $80 in 2020, and would be well over $100 in 2021. Nero D-Avola , Original All...

    Other red wine kits poll

Nero D'Avola is probably my favorite wine. I only started winemaking (kits) in October 2019 and my first kit was the Nero D'Avola from Mosti Mondiale (the only place I have found that offers it. I just started my 3rd batch of it a week ago. That kit is so easy because it is 23 liters of pure...

The kit makers figure the faster they can get you to drink it, the faster you will order another kit.

Wine Kit - clearing & aging?

Welcome to WMT. I am also pretty much a newbie, and have only made kits. Made my first in late 2019 and made 4 over the winter 2019/20. Made 3 the next year. I live in southern Arizona, and use the garage, so I have to wait until it is cool enough to start a kit. I don't use a lot of space...

Other Best kit for quick turnaround?

The first kit I made is very drinkable right after bottling, after a couple weeks to get over bottle shock. It is a Mosti Mondiale Ner D'Avola, a Sicilian red wine. I have made two so far and have another kit in my garage, just waiting for it to get cool enough to start.

HELP I dropped a carboy...how do I clean the concrete floor?

I only started (kit) winemaking in 2019. But from my first equipment kit, I got a PET carboy. It was primarily because of the weight difference. Full carboys, even the PET ones, are really heavy for us older folks, so I didn't want to make it any harder.

I have made this kit twice, following instructions with no deviations / tweaking. Both came out great.

Wanted Transport Mosti All Juice Kits From Northeast to Arizona

Hey all, One of the kits I really like is the Mosti Mondiale All Juice Nero D'Avola. The best place to get it is from the Musto Wine Grape Company in Connecticut. The first kit I made in 2019 cost $80 to ship. Last year it was $90 and this year it is up to $124 for 1 kit and $187 for 2...

I picked up a Forte Super Tuscan yesterday. October is usually when it is coole enough in my garage to start a batch.

    sanitizing the must stirring spoon??

Everything I use gets thoroughly sanitized.. Spoon, hydrometer, thermometer, wine thief, corker, siphon (I wipe down the outside and pump the Star San solution through it). With Star San, you don't have to rinse, so a good dunk in the solution does it.

    sanitizing the must stirring spoon??

I make 5 gallons of Star-San at a time, for use all through my winter wine making months. It is cheap enough, 1 ounce per 5 gallons of tap water. I use it to sanitize all my equipment, then put the top on the bucket between uses. Here in the desert, in my garage, it is usually cool enough for...
