its your favorite wine still based on grapes? if not, what it is it?

In my short experience on this hobbie either doing wines or researching. I came to realize grapes are most popular for wine for several reasons that today we can manipulate/modify (Ph, sugar content, taste, etc) in other fruits. are grapes still your favorite? if not, what is it?

    champaign yeast

I think I had this issue in two batches. I suspected the issue was the sugar. Its there a procedure on how to step feed? I have read bit and pieces but I don't see to find the right info. Btw, the reason for too much sugar is that some juices are very low in sugar and when you add the sugar...

Not only I cant prepare much but I don't see the need to drink the same wine for long time if I do a big batch. At this stage, I'm still trying different fruits to see what I like to keep doing. It's weird as there are so many types of grapes and such. Now, imagine if you decide to try...

Definitely a big thanks. They have very good prices. Some stuff produces 23 L for $60. Which is not bad price. This definitely helps in estimating budget and selecting where to buy.

    Would they still be good?

I got 2.5 L of juice. I will get a hydrometer to get a reading on this. However, assuming I did not lose much sugar. It could have a density of 208/L. Since I added 2.5cups of sugar. Not counting sugar already on grapes 2.5x 208g/2.5 L= 208g/L. PA= 9.9%

    Would they still be good?

I figured but after watching diferent methods I did not want to take any risks with patogens either. I did a taste test and it has a good flavor.

    Would they still be good?

Well, I decided to boil them to extract the juice. After I took all the steams I had 1kg. Aproximately (7.69 cups). I followed the steps on this video to extract the juice by boiling and adding sugar. They came up with a very dark red color. I will post a pic tomorrow after process is done.

Hi Guys, I'm new on this hobby. Totally enjoying it. Good to have something you can enjoy with your significant other. I've been receiving good advice here. However, among my other hobbies, this is the one with worst experience with sellers. I'm assuming I'm just having bad luck. 1) Amazon vs...

So I recently got a 3 gal fast fermeter. So far it seems very handy. I have some questions about the yeast collection. 1) When I collect the yeast from the bottom at the end of primary fermentation. I assume there should be anough yeast to start anothet 3 gal batch. However, is there more...

    General questions as a rookie

Why is a hydrometer needed if I already know the sugar content in the juice? Also, a good yeast like EC-1118 used as per nufacturer guidelines should complete the primary fermentation in two weeks or less?

    General questions as a rookie

Hi Guys, I'm new into wine making. I just finished my second batch. I have couple questions: 1) I want to make wine exclusively from juice and/ or concentrate. What are the cheapest options? I have started from Welch and other cheap brands of juice you get in bottles. I'm curious if there are...
