If your kit is more than 6 months old, I would geta new bottle of sodium hydroxide. It gets weak over time and can really throw off your results.

The F-Pack is rather small and there will be very minimal dilution, you may lose 0.1% ABV if even that. As for adding sugar during fermentation, there are calculations for that.

I have seen them in several places and would be interested in trying one of them... And don't forget, with some of them you are basically getting a free primary with it...
