    Has anyone made the Winexpert LE21 Macabeo Sauvignon Blanc Wine Kit? I like Sauvignon Blanc, but this is a blend. Just wondering if it's any good?

    3 gallon carboy cleaning

    I use plastic milk carton crates to store and drain my carboys. I put the carboy upside down to drain and dry. I also use the crates for moving the carboys when empty or full. The crates have handles which helps with the moving.

    Hope everyone is doing well. As I get up in age, it seems that the carboys are getting heavier to lift onto a table so that I can rack the wine using gravity. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a wine pump? Maybe something that could help with bottling also.

    It's hard to quantify a "small grapefruit", however, find the smallest at the store, and zest it. When adding that to 6 Gal, it shouldn't over power that much wine. The trick would be not to leave it in too long. Perhaps just a week and then rack it off the zest. If you're using the Sur Lie...

    Terroir - No I don't plan to back sweeten it. That would probably ruin the wine. I raised the SG up prior to fermentation to bring the ABV up a little, as per "Joe's Wines".

    Other Favorite Kits

    My favorite Reds (as of today) are the CC Red Mountain Cab and the Eclipse Stag's Leap Merlot. My best White was the WE Chilean Sauvignon Blanc. I have the WE Brunello and the WE Barolo aging right now and have not tasted them, so next year they might be my new 2 favorite Reds.
