1 In 5 California Early Adopters of EVs Move Back To ICE - For Convenience Reasons......

Here's a link to a comprehensive look at total costs which you may want to view. It seems the organization and authors are respected consultants and analysts. Warning - just this sentence on the first page may trigger some EV fanatics "Electric vehicles can be more expensive to fuel than their...

    Blending commercial wine with buckets

I've read on these forums the recommendation to top off carboys (when needed) with similar but not crap wine. Has anyone ever experimented with topping or blending with very good wine? As an example, if I take my Italian 6-gallon bucket of "Brunello" and add 3 or 4 bottles of "92 point"...

Other FWK - very fast ferment

It was 1.02 and I followed your recommendation last night. It had actually dropped down to, coincidentally, 1.002 by then so the good news is that it kept fermenting, just slower. Now in one bucket - thanks!

Other FWK - very fast ferment

After my FWK Petit Syrah went wild and was overflowing the airlock, I split the batch into 2 buckets and delayed the addition of the nutrient pack by 2 days. Now it seems stuck at 1.02 for 3 days. Be patient, or is some kind of action needed on my end? Should I recombine into 1 bucket again...

I'll post this even at the risk of people ignoring independent rating and data in order to bash CR, me, or the information. Don't shoot the messenger! Car Brand Reliability Rankings Latest Consumer Reports ranks Tesla 27th out of 28 companies for reliability (only Lincoln worse). Scores are...

EV technology is good enough now. Not the best analogy to compare it to computer/chip technology which followed Moore's Law for decades. Certainly further incremental advances will come in battery technology, range expansion, quicker charges, etc. But it still comes down to energy source. For...

I'm not sure who is "stuck on gas", certainly not me. But people will continue to desire transportation vehicles to provide mobility. And the worldwide growth will only continue. The energy to run those vehicles has to come from somewhere.

Unfortunately, most of the time the green world benefits the haves and the black hole is dug on the have-nots.

WineXpert How long to wait for better results?

I started an Eclipse Ranch 11 Lodi Cab Sav in September 2016 and bottled December 2016. Has never really tasted that great. I still have some bottles left; is there a chance that it will still get better from here or is that pushing the limits of wine kit wine?

Good idea to always have options. My friend has one of these and it is a perfect complement to his ICE vehicle. When we had the recent multi-day gas pinch in the southeast, he just used this for grocery and local trips. Had no need to use up his gas tank unnecessarily...

At least with gasoline, you can fill up anytime...as long as you're willing to pay the price. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/4ef85eba-133f-11ec-a8a6-db0b408d06d6

Congrats!! Interesting in that "Other Red" category there is a Gold for 100% RJS Craft Winemaking Cru Select Barolo 2007. Just the fact that someone cellared a kit wine for 14 years gets my respect (and surprise)!

    Degassing

I have nowhere near the experience many people on thus site have, but I can tell you that for degassing there are a few popular thoughts/methods. Time will degas naturally. If you don't want to wait weeks or months for that to happen, you can whip the wine with a drill attachment, use a vacuum...

A previous thread you may want to check out is here. The end goal is always good wine, but it would be nice to know what's in it, right?

Finer Wine Kit Finer Wine Kits

Long thread, so this may have been addressed already, but are the Finer Wine kits pure varietals or blends? I understand some like Super Tuscan are blends, but what about the ones like Barbera, Zinfandel, Sav Blanc, etc.?

    juice bucket prices

I only know of one place to get juice buckets within driving distance and they charge between 75 and 90 usually, depending on whether Italian, Chilean, or California. I just got an email from Grape and Granary where they are 55 but they don't ship. Questions - are they all getting pretty much...

You're right Joe, now they are moving on to ravage Greenland instead. But hey, the people who can afford EVs can save a couple of bucks each year with subsidized fuel costs so it's all worth it, right...
