    Carpenter bees.

Thanks guys. Guess I'll varnish the wood clothes line poles and order traps for the carport where I can't see their destruction...only the saw dust (best traps?)

Combo: Hydrometer and Temperature gauge (Alla Thermohydrometer)

Excellent points. But since I only make one gallon at a time (thus far) it's probably not a major factor for me. But still, measuring the temp. and gravity from the same mass appeals to me.

10-4. Know right where the nearest HF is located. And they know where I'm located too, because your post is from that location!

Combo: Hydrometer and Temperature gauge (Alla Thermohydrometer)

Pros /Cons? Actually, I already have a hydrometer but the message, "if you own two , you'll never break one," has finally sunk in! So, I decided having the ability to read the temperature too is a good thing!

Hi Tandrup, Sorry for the late reply but I'm in the midst of trying to order parts for my 1993 Olds (it's been a headache). Your input for the irrigation system is right on point. And I can use the drip emitters to keep the roses alive this year. Thanks.

What parameters do you prefer for your dandelion wine?

Look Ma, No scissors: For removing the petals, There is a You Tube video where a girl is sitting in a field of dandelions twisting the petals loose. It does work. It goes like this: With an opened flower, firmly grasp the bulb (under-side) between the thumb and index finger. Now, roll it...

Cherry Wine Low Acidity and Bitterness

I like your method to run the wine dry*; then add enough sugar to change the FSG 1.040 etc. (is this sugar added before or after racking?). *In step-feeding dry sugar. At what times and proportions is the dry sugar step-fed? Thanks!

Cherry Wine Low Acidity and Bitterness

Dawg, sounds like you could answer this question (perhaps you already did) regarding berry wines. In answering a an earlier post, it was stated: " I always add extra berries, because they make a smoother finish with my high alcohol wine. What transpires to make this so? Thank you.

I'm relatively new to wine making and don't have anything to measure ph, but feel I should. What should be considered when shopping for an instrument?
