This might be a ridiculous question but what is a country wine?

What other hobbies do you have?

Incredible pictures. I like photography as well. I'm still learning and have a ways to go. I got an old Canon 70D in Japan a couple years ago. I need to blow the dust off of it and get to shooting. :)

Yeah I'm just thinking.."Hey this is a hobby. This is what I'm choosing to do for fun. Why not make it as enjoyable as possible?" I'm an older fellow...and each year getting older. I don't want to look towards bottling day with shear dread. I'm still waiting for my kits to arrive. I'll be...

    Zelix Wine Adventures...Beginner Gearing up.

I've spent some time yesterday looking at floor corkers. I'm probably going to pull the trigger on a Italian floor corker. It's a bit more costly than the protuguese but it looks like it requires less force to use it. I'm thinking it will be worth it in the long run spending the extra money...

    What R you doing today?

I'm at work. I'm also checking out the forum and gaining wine making knowledge. It's killing me to wait for my wine making kit and recipe kit to come in the mail.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. I might just bite the bullet and buy enough bottle to make this first batch. I'd like to come out of the gate with a win if possible. I'm thinking just follow the kit and everything to the letter. After that I can experiment with different ingredients, bottles and...

Quick question for everyone. I've asked everyone to save their wine bottles. Does it matter if the bottle is a screw lid or not when it comes to corking them?

I believe that bucket will hold 6.5 gallons. It's a bit larger than a 5 gallon bucket. I'm taking your recommendation and I just bought the winemakers kit. I'm guessing the only thing I need now is a corker and some bottles. I'll get them in a week or so. I've already put the word out for...

    Zelix Wine Adventures...Beginner Gearing up.

Hello everyone. To keep from flooding the forum with multiple threads I decided to simply make this thread to house my beginning wine making adventures. It will also help me to keep this as a record to sort out all my missteps and record my triumphs ( I hope to have). I hope this is okay with...

    Greetings

Thanks for the post. I'm aware it's going to be a while before I can make wine from my grapes. I still have access to my father's muscadines as he's in Japan working now. I should be able to get more than enough to make a couple of 6 gall batches. I am looking forward to making wine with my...

    Greetings

Newbie here. I've made wine decades ago. I've moved to a new place. I just planted 4 muscadine vines. I hope to make some wine when they take hold and ripen. I'm planning on getting a wine kit and get going again. I do have some equipment and knowledge.... looking forward to learning more.
