    Winexpert LE19

Mine's only 4-5 weeks old, but I just took a tiny taste out of a hydrometer flask. Point is, I didn't get anything too detailed from it, so don't take this too seriously. But, it has a very nice tannic punch up front, solid dark fruit flavors, moderate acidity, decent body. I wasn't expecting...

    Winexpert LE19

Honestly, most of those look really good. Only one red comes with skins, like last year, but if early tastes on the Corazon are telling, that shouldn't necessarily be a barrier. Not ideal, but not all bad.

Glass vs Cork Closures The way of the future??

That's what I did first. Didn't see anything. Did I just miss the obvious?

Glass vs Cork Closures The way of the future??

What is the "sealing ring" made from on these?

    Winexpert LE18 thoughts?

Wasn't the Eclipse Nebbiolo the one that used to be marketed as Barolo? Maybe it's still sourced from that region? Or blended to taste like it. Just a guess. I have no firm knowledge about this.

    Winexpert LE19

Looks like some of the details for LE19 wines are on WE's site. I'm attaching the images here of the feature and sell sheets. Finally a high end Tempranillo! In case you don't want to go through the sheets, the wines are: Terremoto Tempranillo - Spain Pecorino Pinot Grigio - Italy Pacific...

    WE Late Harvest Riesling

No one? Well, I felt impulsive and preordered, so I suppose I'll update here on the progress once I get started.

    LD Carlson cacao nibs

Ok. I only ask as most people haven't snacked on them plain, and are often surprised when they do. Your idea sounds good. Hope it goes well.

    LD Carlson cacao nibs

Try eating a few raw. Might help you determine. Are they marked for freshness? Could they be old? And I have to ask, have you eaten nibs before?

    Straining Bags

Nearly 13 years. Well done. :h

    SG and dryness

I don't know that liquid density alone is ever going to be a good measure of sweetness.

    Long-Term Aging with Bottle Caps

Not sure. I imagine both would work fine. But if you go the Champagne bottle route, they're a whole lot cheaper at the link below. https://labelpeelers.com/equipment/bottles/wine-bottles/champagne-green-750-ml-bottles/ It might take some trial and error to get the right cork and insertion...

Why is my wine so sweet ?

If it stops at 1 exactly, there's some sugar left. That's one possible reason. Some people mistake aromatic or fruity wines as sweet, even if they aren't. Tell us a bit about this wine and what people say.

    Red vs White Fermentation

Reds, by nature, are much more resilient to oxidation.

    Where to get fresh yeast?

But "Amazon" could be any number of stores. You have to pay attention.

    Long-Term Aging with Bottle Caps

As in a bomber? Decidedly not. Get champagne bottles

    Long-Term Aging with Bottle Caps

To add insurance, so to speak? Some lambic producers do this. I'm not vouching for the practice, as such, just providing a rationale.

    Where to get fresh yeast?

Don't know that buying off Amazon fixes your problem. You still have to select a seller, just like before. Any of the standard online stores with high volume should be fine.

    "Flor quality corks," really?

Is Morewine supplied by LaFitte? Same grade of 1+1, I take it?

    WE Late Harvest Riesling

Anyone ordering this kit? Or, anyone do something similar in previous years? How did it turn out, if so?
