    Stainless Steel Fermenter

I don't have one, but it seems a decent product. For a similar amount of money, I'd buy Spike products. Welded TC ports are so much nicer than anything else. I have a Flex and love it.

    Long-Term Aging with Bottle Caps

This isn't wine, but bottle caps in general are successfully with beers that are designed to age 10 years or more. Sometimes over durations that long, beer can exhibit a small loss of carbonation, indicating the seal is not perfect (holding significant pressure inside). Oxidation is a factor...

    Commercial Simple Syrup?

If you're worried about yeast breaking down disaccharides, pick up dextrose. Found at any brew store, and not much more expensive than sucrose.

    5 US Gallon Carboy(s?) for 6 G kit

I'd just pick up a few smaller jugs. 1 or 1/2 gallon ones should do the trick. Gallon if you don't mind topping up, half gallon if you'd prefer to avoid it and would rather have a reason to taste along the way.

    First wine kit

This. Please don't use wine instead of water when reconstituting a 10L kit.

    First wine kit

If you don't like to drink your water as is, I sure wouldn't make wine from it. Buy some cheap spring or RO water instead.

    Commercial Simple Syrup?

I'm sure that would work just fine. It's very expensive for what it is, but if it's worth it to you, go right ahead. For what it's worth, making simple syrup doesn't exactly take over the kitchen. One pot and about 5 minutes is all it takes. Make it while the wife is sleeping - and clean the...

Super deal on Carboys in Columbus, Ohio

Janine was the person I deal with. Seemed very nice and professional, as you said. Not a bad area of town at all. I suppose if owning a business were my kind of gig, I'd consider it, but my line of work is different.

Super deal on Carboys in Columbus, Ohio

Picked up 5. Great price. Thanks for the heads up!

    RJS 2020 Restricted Quantities announced!

Agreed. About 50% or more of the commercial wine I buy is Spanish. Wish there were more kits, especially at the high end.

Super deal on Carboys in Columbus, Ohio

Thanks for the tip. I may grab some of these, too.

    Lafitte Cork

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

    Using fruit after straining

I can't imagine there would be much left, either. But I have to know - why the fear of something exploding?

    Lafitte Cork

Does anyone have a current price list, by chance? I sent an email to them 3 weeks ago, but never got a response.

The necessity of storing corked bottles on their side a busted myth?

If anyone is interested in reading the original source, here it is. I haven't read through it yet, but plan to over the weekend.

    What's in an Amarone kit?

Weird. Winexpert describes it as "Amarone style.". Do the ingredients seem to match the style, per OP's question?

    What's in an Amarone kit?

Anyone make the Eclipse Forza? How does it compare?

    Fast Ferment Fruit Wine

Is the opening on this Fastferment product not big enough to pass fruit solids?

Good source for small quantity of corks

Perhaps the nomacorc manufacturing has changed over the years. There are tons of people talking about creases and leaks a number of years ago. Would be nice. Some of these new normacorc products seem super tempting.

    Is there a better way?

I don't see a need for multiple acid soaks/rinses, unless it just isn't working and you want to try something else.
