    Post a photo, any photo

No dogs harmed in this shot... This was actually a contest on a photography forum. Folks would post a photo for others to edit. The foreground seemed kind of empty to me so.... <grin>

"100% Juice" versus "100% Juice From Concentrate"

Thanks Paul. I spent too, too much time working on that one. I've got a couple of more in that same setting that I need to work on. Did ever mention I think I might be a little OCD'ish. :D

"100% Juice" versus "100% Juice From Concentrate"

Scooter68, your description of a *good* peach is perfect. Yes, I know what you're talking about. Just about any fruit is like that (at least for me). If you don't have to grab a towel or a shirt sleeve to wipe your chin then you haven't gotten into the good stuff!!!!! I'm going to keep fresh...

"100% Juice" versus "100% Juice From Concentrate"

Thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure though, are you saying my original idea of using the Welch's White Grape and Peach jug juice with added canned peaches may work better than using the Kirkland apple juice (and adding peaches)? I'm a little slow....

Final hydrometer reading is .0990? That means it is basically through fermenting, the yeast having consumed most all of the sugars. It's good if it's the final SG reading. What was your beginning hydrometer reading? By "weak, maybe flat" do mean there is little alcohol taste or that there is...

High Fructose Corn Syrup...what about it?

Sounds good, Scooter68, just gotta get my ducks in a row. We do have peach growers north of me about 100 miles...Chilton County Peaches. I might just have to make a road trip one day and snag some...gotta get some freezer space available beforehand though so as to make the trip worthwhile.

You mean something like this...my mother (little girl) and her mother (standing behind her)? :)

    Vacant mobile home wine room...

Thanks Arne. Yep, shiny side out! And, I'll throw some on the ceiling. The judge is still out regarding the trailer...the cleaning/airing of it is beginning to wear me down. Now, I've got a war going on with rats/mice.<sigh> That little 8x8 shed is sounding better and better. But...

    Planting Chambourcin from cuttings

Nice link that @GreginND posted, though! :) But, here in south Alabama I probably won't be planting any grapevines...though years (maybe 50?) ago I recall an old house across the road from me having grapevines growing around the edge of their long front porch. I never liked those grapes...

Thanks @cmason1957 . That makes life much simpler!!! :db

High Fructose Corn Syrup...what about it?

I bought a couple of cans of peaches the other day figuring on using them to make some wine. It was an impulse buy. I was in a hurry picking up something else, saw the peaches, blah, blah, blah. Anyhow, I'm the proud owner of them and just read that ingredients include HFCS. 1. HFCS is bad...

I may just give it a whirl!!!!

    Welch's Juice Concentrates discontinued.... ???

I'm not going that route. I gotta crawl before I walk. ;) The Walkers website is interesting, but yet still a bit expensive. But, for possibly 25 bottles of some fine strawberry wine it might be worth it.<grin> That is, once I feel more confident in fermenting that $$$ level of juice. ;)

"100% Juice" versus "100% Juice From Concentrate"

Ok, the Welch's Grape Juice company's discontinuing their line of frozen fruit juice concentrates has me thinking. I picked up some Kirkland100% Apple Juice (only ingredient stated is apples) at Costco the other day. I also picked up some Welch's 100% Concord Grape Juice (only ingredient...

    Welch's Juice Concentrates discontinued.... ???

Just was exploring the Old Orchard website. They have "commercial" juice concentrates. You have to set up an account to see them. They sell this from 5-gallon and 52-gallon volumes. Kind of pricey for some of it but they've got a BUNCH of flavors. Only problem is that it's "Pick-up Only" in...

corking trauma -- is there a workable technique?!

Cool. I haven't tried a hand-corker. After hearing all the stories of how bad a time folks had with them I opted to get the Portuguese floor corker. I will say it is easy with the floor corker, for sure.

    Welch's Juice Concentrates discontinued.... ???

I've been checking out Old Orchard's website and their concentrate offering. They have way more flavors than I thought they had. I used their product/store locator (with a big grain of salt) and found that within a 60-65 mile radius of me that a very few grocers carry the Old Orchard brand of...
