Wondering what you winemakers might suggest I do to tweak this kit that just arrived. It's Crafted Series (formerly Wine Lover's) Tempranillo. Even though it is a Medium/Heavy-Bodied wine kit making 12.55% ABV I was able to purchase it for under $50 qualifying it as a "cheap kit.":db I think...

So I have 3 kits waiting to be made but still pulled the trigger on the ABC Tempranillo 12.55% Medium/Heavy bodied kit. At $47, these are a steal since their website has them on sale for $99.95. We might be getting an older product but I've had good results from older kits as well.

I've done quite a few of these and they've turned out great with minimal tweaks.

I did not know about the micro oxidation and I own a Speidel.

Amarone is a favorite of mine. I have made RJS Italian Amarone and RJS Amarone Classico (which I don't believe is available anymore). Both of them were/are excellent. They are 2 and 3 years old at this point. I've also done an Amarone juice bucket but it's not in the same class as the RJS kits.

I was able to visit Shakespeare's home when I was on a College trip, and the only thing I remember is the tour guide explaining where the phrase "turning the tables" came from. :tz

Good call @Swedeman. Internet search confirms white=blush/rose. In that case @MHSKIBUM, I've added a home made strawberry/raspberry f-pac (16 oz. total fruit) to the primary combined with your shorting water. I tried to get the SG to 1.080-1.090 to start. No back sweetening but still tasted fruity.

You have a great question. I've studied this entire thread and unless I missed it, White Zinfandel has not been discussed--Zinfandel blush but not white. Kind of a generic white wine tweak is to add grapefruit zest or a green grape f-pac. Hopefully @joeswine or one of the other stars on here...

I like these a lot; they make great wine at a good price. But keep in mind that each 6 gallon bucket makes approximately 2.5 to 3 gallons of wine. I buy 2 buckets at a time to get 6 gallons of wine.

I've had good luck with Homebrew Ohio, and used them in part because they had free shipping on orders over $50. I noticed recently they have changed it to $100. I order from other suppliers too, but tend to look here first.
