    Thread for common terms

Cool. One question...I found differences in amounts for K-Meta prior to fermentation. What do you think is appropriate for the sticky? Is that okay or would you all like a definite amount?

    Matching Yeast and Sugar amounts

So I have done a ton of reading on here and learned a lot. One thing I haven't heard discussed but maybe I haven't run into it is amount of yeast for whatever amount of must you are using. I have searched google and here. In a perfect world you would want there to be just enough yeast to...

    Blueberry Melomel

This is going to be my second batch of wine. I heard blueberry wine is excellent. Also I will be using a starter to ensure good fermentation. Question: Are you against crushing the blueberries? When you squeeze them are you doing this basically? Also if I was going to make a f-pac...

RJ Spagnols 1st wine brew and diary - Vino del Vida wine kit

Sept 1, 2009 tested SG of must on 6th full day, it's at 1.03. Grabbed a small glass and it tastes a lot different than the other sips I took. This one tasted less like grape juice finally, it kinda made me nervous thinking it might be going bad but my girl said it tasted good so I was...

    Final SG for Red Zinfandel?

Nubz, I like your idea of adding juice. What are the best things to add to grape wine, in my case Red Zin? ---grape juice, some type of sugar? Exactly when should I add it so it does not get the yeast feeding again? Thanks

    Use only bucket fermentor

Anyone here use only a bucket and not a glass carboy? What would be a disadvantage to this other than seeing clarity? I see this would be very easy and cheaper, in my opinion as a newbie. Feel free to slap me across the face with a dead fish if I am being newbie stupid:?
