    Oldest LA Bodega kit?

Funny, mine have been in new American 10L for 6 months and 4 months respectively, and don't seem the least bit bothered by it. I don't know what that is. The good thing is that the f pac taste is disappearing slowly..

    Oldest LA Bodega kit?

Hi -- I'm wondering if any of you have got wine from a LaBodega kit that had made it past 2-3 years. I've made two batches this year and am hoping to get it to 5-7 years at least. I'd like to see it get to a tawny style by barrel ageing it. What's the oldest port kit you've got?

    Old Vine Zinfandel Port

Colman, I just checked WGD. What do you think about a Carignan port? I'm not familiar with this grape, but it has higher Brix than the syrahs from 2013..

So do they always have these syrahs from different years, or did you just get the lucky stock? Congratulations on the score!!

RJ Spagnols Black Friday sales for kits...

I've made two separate batches of LaBodega kits. I think they're very strong even 6 months out. It's going to be very good wine once the KT from the fpac dissipates. For the next one I'll try not to add the whole fpac, or chaptalize and arrest fermentation at a little higher SG. Great kit, though.

Is this something I buy from them? Never heard of this place. I gotta wait until spring--I need a break from cleaning carboys!

    Barrels on an airplane

Runningwolf, just rinse and empty or fly it with meta in it? Should I use the same solution I use to sanitize with to rinse?

    Barrels on an airplane

that's a good idea. How would it affect the barrel to be empty for that time? It's already been wet. will I open myself up to any spoilage?

    Barrels on an airplane

Hi everyone, For the holiday, I thought it would be nice to give two little nephews a 1L barrel with their initials and the dates on them and then have some port that their parents will keep topped off until they can drink it. I haven't worked out the logistics yet, but I've have cheap...

    Old Vine Zinfandel Port

The thing that kills me is that there's a $10 difference between a 10L and 20L. With the stand and a silicone bung, I paid less than $180, shipped to Boston, ma

    Old Vine Zinfandel Port

I have my labodega port kit in a 10L Vadai. The oak impact has been very soft. Spent 3 months in on first oak and it is almost imperceptible. I'll be getting a 20L soon so I can combine batches.

    Post your high-mileage cars here!

Thanks JS. So I have a question that I know can only be answered by experience and opinion and maybe not absolute fact, but I hope some of you will chime in. It looks like cars like the versa weren't built to be High mileage (given that the kind of maintenance it requires means that there's a...
