What vegetables can wine be made from

Yes, avoid using sugar, such as Corn Sugar, as a fermentable. That's not beer, seems to me. I found a site once, which listed recipes that users had uploaded. There were something like twenty beer recipes per displayed page ... and 4,500+ pages. Yikes!

What vegetables can wine be made from

My records indicate that in September and early October, 2012, I started with Brewer's Best American Cream Ale kits. By the end of October I had worked up my own recipe. The kits used some Liquid Malt, but also dry Pilsen and Corn Sugar as the fermentables. And Willamette hops for both...

What vegetables can wine be made from

The Watermelon fruit wine came out great. Could be a little sweeter, I'll be sure to use the entire container of Conditioner/Sweetener next time. Bottled the Ale today, total of 51 twelve-oz bottles (repurposed Moosehead & Dos Equis green bottles). This is the darkest beer I've ever made. It...

Branching out cuz no longer a beginner

I bottled the Watermelon fruit wine today. When I sampled some a week ago, or more, it was not sweet enough and still cloudy. So I added more of the Global Vintners sweetener/conditioner. And used more of the Sparkolloid. Very clear now, better than my Moscato usually is. And very tasty. This...

What vegetables can wine be made from

Got the Ale started. I had the last of a 33 lb growler of the Briess Golden Light malt extract sitting around for several months. I needed to try to use all of it, if possible. My ale is usually about 4-1/2 % alcohol. I used to say that if I want something stronger, I just drink The Glen Livet...

    New Zealand, member locations?

Ummm ... well, next time I'm anywhere near New Zealand, I'll drop by. Pretty sure that's about 9,000 miles from Colorado, though. Maybe more ... I saw a meme where a guy in Asia connected with a guy in Brazil, IIRC. They realized they were very nearly at directly opposite locations on the...

What vegetables can wine be made from

I have 6 gallons of Vintner's Best Watermelon Fruit siphoned to a Carboy and with Sorbate, K-meta and Kieselsol stirred in ... smells really great. And 6 gallons of WinExpert Reserve Pinot Noir in primary. Today I'll be preparing everything to start a 5 gallon batch of Light Ale (Briess Golden...

Gonçalo, you seem to already be an expert at the most important part of winemaking-- growing the right grapes. Bravo!

    Post your labels here

So even if & when I do switch to NoonTime labels, there is still the effort of the one-time removal of labels from wine I have purchased in order to re-use the Bottles. Methods I have previously used involved soaking and washing and peeling, which was such a mess. Now I am simply scraping the...

Welcome to Wine Making! Have you considered starting with a prepared Kit? I have made six batches using WinExpert Kits, which include the Grape Juice and everything else besides hardware equipment. And wine from these kits all turned out very well for me. Here is a link to a dealer that ships...

So this is going well, as of day 3 ! Corrections/Additions to my plan are in Bold above. Starting S.G. was 1.074. It smells great and is bubbling nicely through the Airlock. I ordered a pH tester but it has not arrived yet. I updated my Brewing Recipe PDF, that I've been using since 2012 (doc...

    Hello from Colorado

Welcome to WineMaking! Sorry I didn't visit here often enough since January. I've been brewing beer for years here in Boulder, and making wine for several months now. Good Luck!

So here is what I'm thinking about doing, and I'm just about to order everything from LabelPeelers. I don't use Chitosan, but Sparkolloid instead. This recipe basically summarizes the WinExpert instructions for CA Moscato. I like the simplicity of this, because I don't need another hobby. This...

Thanks Very Much! for the excellent advice! I arrived at the point of considering a "Fruitscato" by reading about the Sangria Kits offered by WinExpert, which I found looking at LabelPeelers for the Finer Wines Tavola kits. Also, enjoying a bottle of Barefoot Watermelon Fruitscato convinced me...

I have discovered Vintners Best Fruit wine Base, in Watermelon, and Watermelon concentrate ... both from LabelPeelers. I have made 3 batches of WE CA Moscato, but I'm thinking of making some Watermelon "Fruitscato" to start the Summer. (I've also made 3 batches of WE Cabernet Sauvignon, and...

WineXpert Classic Chile Cabernet Sauvignon 8L

I looked at the Finer Wine company site, and they seem to be on vacation(?) LabelPeelers sells Finer Wine kits, but the Tavola Cab is currently out of stock. Is the Finer Wine Kits Tavola Pinot Noir a good alternative? I have thought about the WinExpert Pinot Noir with NZ grapes, but that is an...

WineXpert Classic Chile Cabernet Sauvignon 8L

Busy, busy ... with other things. But I finally bottled this third batch of Cabernet Sauvignon. Just as with the beer that I made a lot of, and never changed the recipe much ... I'm just sticking with the Classic Chile Cab and the California Moscato from WinExpert. Previous batches of both have...

I thank you for blatantly advertising. Scraping my own labels off has become a chore. I am seriously considering Noontime. Thanks Again!

Ah. That makes sense. And interestingly, the very small glasses that I like to use are a 5 oz size, not the more popular full-size wine glasses. Thanks.

Serving size 1.72 fl oz (51ml) ... ?!? I never noticed that. Whoa, I'm really going overboard when I am enjoying this wine. :slp
