Any other thrifty wine makers out there?

my-tea-wine-recipes.98106 This site has tea bag wine recipes, often mixed with a liter of juice. They also have a lot of "WOW" wines which is basically supermarket juices. Frozen grape concentrate is inexpensive and not bad when mixed with another juice flavor or your found fruit. I do not...

    Blending country wines and fermentation.

Can I assume if I blend some stabilized sweetened bottles of peach wine with my 6 month old carboy of jalapeño that active fermentation may start up again? If I wanted these two to age together I would need to stabilize the jalapeño? If anyone's interested 22 peppers may have been to much 🙃.

    Naked wines company

I bought this for my daughter. She's graciously sharing with me. She really likes many of them and will get again near year. I'm not much of a wine drinker but I love learning about all the variety's and blends.

    Dessert Wine

I should add that I use a beer cap and am not trying to shove a cork in there. If I'm feeling extra fancy I'll put an amazon heat shrink wrap over it as well.

You could always use a small beer bottle. I think they're close to 350 ml. Not as pretty but I use them for small amounts and gifting for certain folks.

I ended up twisting a piece of paper napkin around my air locks. I ordered a set of ten of amazon and the holes are notably larger.

Omg! I'm so happy to read this. I've been freaked out because I've had to clean airlocks out a few times a week. I know that's what their for but I've got about 15 fermentation's going on. Happy to hear it's kinda normal.

This was very helpful. Thank you. How do you rack out of smaller bottles? I have trouble getting a good syphon with a 1 gallon let alone a mason jar.

Making wine out of poisonous berries?

I did read an article about deadly nightshade vs a similar looking non deadly night shade. Like BigDaveK I'm an adventurous but I'm gonna skip that one. Apparently an ancient Greek cult made a Bacchus wine from nightshade berries, herbs and grapes. It was consumed before dancing and orgies...

Life span of a wine kit

My niece and I went to a very small winery tasting in Portland and everything tasted like bandaids. My niece graciously inquired to the taste and the server said it was strong on leather. My question is Does oxidation cause this? I thought oxidation caused a Sherry like flavor. All 4 samples...

Delicata squash wine - I'm going for it!

A chef blogger introduced me to some unusual combos. Fennel and salt. Coriander with curry and allspice, cardamon and cloves. I will have to try the cinnamon and sugar this year. It sounds better than the pumpkin pie blend she's got goin on but you never no.

    Second run blackberry/jalapeño help

That's a good little tidbit. I just transferred a chipotle/ berry mix and it was a little over powering with that smokey taste. No heat though. Please keep us updated with the wines.

    Second run blackberry/jalapeño help

So I've been reading some older threads about jalapeño wine that included apple or grape juice that I wanted to try. Then I came across a thread about second runnings with blackberrys that Arne answered and am excited to try. So the jelly's great what about wine? I will have 25 lbs of...
