A Program for Home Brew Wine Makers

Having just discovered that mother's day and father's day are different in other countries makes me want to find out the international appeal of this program more, as this would require even more programming. floating holidays aren't hard to program, just tedious. I have to look up the holiday...

A Program for Home Brew Wine Makers

hell, I even put in chinese new year for a few years. So basically I added a bunch of "excuse to party and drink" holidays

A Program for Home Brew Wine Makers

The holiday programming is all I have left, otherwise the program is done. I am toying with the idea of adding icons to the home screen to chose what holidays are shown mainly for international appeal (since only americans observe thanksgiving or independence day and daylight saving time...

well again, I included those because even non religious people observe them, not for any religious reason but for the "hallmark holiday" aspect. I mean, no one really cares who St. Valentine was but the candy company makes a killing every year off chocolate. unless you are Irish you don't care...

A Program for Home Brew Wine Makers

I was trying to to avoid religious holidays since they wouldn't be appealing to everyone. The only reason I included Christmas is because many non religious people celebrate the secular "hallmark holiday" Santa Claus/Gift giving aspect of it. but If there was enough interest in it, I would be...

I figured 99 bottles per rack might even be overkill, plus any more buttons for the grid view would make the window huge. I figured 99 bottles and 25 racks was 2,475 bottles. I thought that was plenty, lol I added the holidays to encourage both myself and other uses to check the thing daily...

    Cleaning bladder press bag

Is it the bag or the basket you are worried about cleaning? If it's the bag, how big is it and what is it made out of? Considering the size of the batches you make I'm guessing it's quite large. If your are willing to shell out some extra cash maybe look on craigslist for a washing machine in...

How to rescue the batch of wine having high acidity?

you could try adding some potassium bicarbonate. Or maybe blend it with another wine or juice? If it's been contaminated I don't know if there's much you can do, or if you'd even want to in that case. I'm no expert though so might want to see what the rest of the group thinks

lol, I've poured a lot of hours into this, it would be a shame to keep it to myself, especially if can help make ends meet in these crazy times lol

A Program for Home Brew Wine Makers

Well I did the conversion part just in case. in the upper left of log screen I put a checkbox and if you check it the labels change to metric. And yeah I know the feeling, that's why I added the holidays and custom reminders to give me a reason to check it every day thinking that would make it...

    Pear Wine

Personally, I'm a fan of the "cut into small chunks, sprinkle with sugar, refrigerate for 2 days, freeze for 2 days, thaw for 1 day, then mash with potato masher in must bag" method.... but that's just me but I find that method helps break down the cellular structure well and produces a lot of...

A Program for Home Brew Wine Makers

So I wanted a program that would help remind me of when I needed to rack my brews and keep track of inventory and after a google search I found they make them for beer but not for wine....so I decided to write one. It is just about finished now except for the help file... or at least it was...

any way to counteract sodium benzoate before fermentation?

My kinda guy! How did you do the Cherry Kool-Aid? I thought about that but thought the preservatives would make it too hard to ferment so that's why I tried making Kilju and adding Kool-Aid packets to it. The Kilju was nasty and the Kool-Aid didn't help! The Cotton Candy sugar idea sounds...

any way to counteract sodium benzoate before fermentation?

i have a small 5 cup coffee pot. I took 4 pots of strong, double brewed coffee, added 5 cups sugar, 2 tsp nutrient, 1/2 tsp pectin, and the grounds from all 4 batches with ec-1118 yeast in a 1 gallon glass jug with airlock. brewed for a month to 10.5% abv. cleared with bentonite clay for 1...

any way to counteract sodium benzoate before fermentation?

most of my wine making is just sweet red table wine for daily drinking with dinner, so I like the fun of experimenting with new things, like the coffee wine. Everyone said "why?' but it's actually quite good if you like coffee (and I do) but the fun was doing what most people though was a waste...
