    Vacant mobile home wine room...

Mmm...this "old trailer" sounds like the makings of a wine making man cave. Stove, refrigerator, TV, wine tasting table etc. :db

is there a way to remove the tough metal "collars" from necks of screw-cap btls?!

The only screw top neck rings I've removed are from the 4 liter Carlo Rossi bottles. I grab it with. Needle nose pliers and give a twist and they snap right off.

    Garage Winemaking in South Africa

Definitely try out making fruit wines. That is all I make. Wild fruit is abundant if you look for it and don't mind picking it. Or fresh or frozen from the markets. Grape is great, but there are so many options available with fruit. Also tea wines are good. Especially chilled on a warm day. Nice...

Sulphur used in Vineyards and its effect on products

Welcome to WMT. :b I make mostly fruit wines so I really can't say. Your question is hard to understand. Will sulfur powder affect the fermentation of the natural yeasts found on grapes? (Correct me if I have misunderstood.) Perhaps so. You should probobly rinse and add a proper wine yeast to...

    Everything But the Kitchen Sink

I make mixed fruit wines a lot. Constantly have some of this and a little of that and some wow look, left over juice. Hope you wrote it down as it will probably be amazing. Keep us posted on how this ends. (Sounds tragic right) :b

Newby needs help with "hazy" juice?

No need to worry. Its still fermenting and will do so for at least a few weeks yet. I'm not a grape person but hopefully someone who is will help you along with this.

Homebrewed Beverage Buzz vs. Commercial Beverage Buzz

I dont mean to sound harsh but it sounds as if over indulgence may play a factor.

Muscadine's been sitting for 8 days now; so .... how to proceed?

I do also get wine bottles and the 3 and 4 liter bottles from restaurants. Thier house wines are generally Carlo Rossi and they just toss the containers. There again, you have to check their recycle bins. More diving, of course. I have found most places do not have the time to help you out but...

Muscadine's been sitting for 8 days now; so .... how to proceed?

I have had good luck getting free food grade buckets from local bakeries. 2 gal., 4 gal. & 5 gal. Ones with lids. You may have to dumpster dive to get them though. But the price is right. :db
