    wine racks

I get my bottles free from several friends. I'm working on getting them from Total Wine in the future. They have wine tastings on the weekends and the host said I could get them at the end of the tasting. However, if bottles weren't available to you, I'd ask the partner to share that expense also.

Great suggestion. It's easy to see that Sal knows what he's doing.

    Gelatin filtering - a better f-pac?

I'm following also. Please keep giving us updates as you go. This could something very big, or an educational process that doesn't work well in our hobby. I hope it works and appreciate others sharing their findings.

    Adding sugar to wine kit

From what I've heard, you can generally fix a problem like this. Look for threads from JoesWine and send him a private message. He's an expert at this and tweaking recipes to make mediocre wines into master pieces. He'd have a recommendation. I think to increase alcohol, you do add your...

    wine racks

Hi Tess, My friend that got me started told me he has people that are willing to pay for the kit, he does the work, and then they split the finished bottles. I've asked a few friends that I've given a bottle too and they said they'd do that. After I finish my inventoried kits, I'm going that...

    when good wines gone bad

Hi Joe, I'm confused about this instruction. It Note states to de-gas heavily and then item #2, in the instructions, states to leave the sediment behind. What's your thoughts on this? How can you rack and leave sediment behind after you've aggressively de-gassed? All the sediment are now...

    Benefits to Combining Yeast?

I like this. This is a perfect example of combining two yeasts in the primary, at different times, to get results from both. Great example. Pumpkin, hang in there. You were right on. Robie, many of us learn more by doing. However, your words of caution are good to hear also.

    Benefits to Combining Yeast?

I agree...................Think outside the box. I have purchased kit wines from Amazon and I know some of these techniques and advice from Joe will make these kit wines awesome. In fact, I have not received any bad reviews from the kits I have made.

I thank you for your knowledge and sharing it with us. I tried to find the artwork and it's owner, but I could not. I usually Google search for Images with Hummingbird in the search block. I found one similar and I am asking the rightful owner for permission to use it. I will let you know the...

I apologize for my ignorance. I will attempt to find owners name for you and apologize to him. Maybe this was a good thread, if nothing else, for other people to know as they go forward. In my defense, I fully thought that any artwork that did not contain a copyright, was fair game.

    Zinfandel yeast

My WE Eclipse Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel came with Premier Cuvee yeast. I'm glad I finally got a kit that was different from the EC 1118. If the kit is great then I'll probably change when I make Zins. My other kit is a WE Eclipse Lodi Ranch 11 Cabernet. It came with EC1118. Go figure.

    Zinfandel yeast

They both look great, and keep in mind you can ferment two 3 gallon batches and blend them together later. I read where one guy did 3 blends. 1.) was 50/50 2.) was 75/25 3.) was 25/75. He also had a few bottles of 100% of each. Have fun and please post your results and findings. As JoesWine...
