    Big idea... maybe

I just checked. It's Vintner's Best. The Wine Expert I was thinking of was my Gewurztraminer.

    Big idea... maybe

I love elderberries, but I only have a few young plants so I ordered an elderberry kit from Wine Experts. Has anyone had experience with it? Almost all of the elderberry wine I have tried is on the sweet side. I'm wondering if this will turn out sweeter than I like.

    anyone heard from Hounddawg?

I had not been on here much lately due to renovating a house, moving, and an untimely spinal surgery. When I have managed to read here I noticed that hounddog had not been on. I hope everything is okay. He helped me as much as anyone on here when I first started winemaking last year.

How not to make a mess?!?

We just moved to a different house in an effort to downsize. My winemaking supplies are "Somewhat" organized, but I'm still working on that. Tonight I racked my raspberry lemon and my tart cherry wine. This was the first rack for them. They sat on the lees WAY too long due to the extended...

Can someone describe "Kit wine taste?" I wouldn't know what to expect.

    Darn Skeeter Pee!

Finally finished some of my Skeeter screw up. Fortunately this lemon elderberry turned out delicious! I'm very happy with it. I ended up with 26 bottles plus a quart in the fridge to sample. I'm going to age it a while but I can hardly wait to share it!

    Darn Skeeter Pee!

Arne I'm thinking of doing this very thing. It will be a while before I'm ready to start another batch. Carboys are full and I'm waiting for a month or so before I bottle the first batch. I have the two smaller batches still slowly going down on their SG. But one of these days I'm going to...

    Buon Vino bottle filler

I operate pretty small, but splurged and bought the AIO. I'm glad I did. I'm making way more wine than I thought I would and this AIO (once I got it put together right) works perfectly for me. I'm able to handle the whole process myself without making a mess.

    Darn Skeeter Pee!

I'm still trying to decide how I want to finish off this "skeeter pee." I started with a 5 gallon batch which didn't ferment, divided, diluted added flavors, lost track of SG's and now I have 3 flavors slowly perking along. I still haven't added the rest of the lemon to it. I'm thinking I...

    rain acoming

Dawg I raised bees for a while and although I was only able to do it for a couple years I managed to be pretty successful at it. I started with buying one nuc and one complete hive. By the end of the first complete year I had 10 hives. I rescued a swarm from a downed walnut tree, caught...

    Darn Skeeter Pee!

Ok. I have the All In One vacuum pump but not the filter set up. I'll have to look into that. I was thinking that filtering it was only done once it had totally cleared, like just before bottling.

Hounddawg do you have a picture of your setup? I'm having trouble picturing what you mean about a relief valve.

    Southeast Kansas vineyard

Thank you so much Treesaver. I grew up just south of Salina, but lived at Hiawatha, KS for a few years before moving to SE KS. The house we are remodeling and moving to (where this vineyard is located) is just outside of Independence, KS.

    Darn Skeeter Pee!

When you add the lemon at the end does it clear or stay cloudy?

    Darn Skeeter Pee!

Thanks Bossbaby. I will move it back to buckets and hopefully get the rest of the lemon added before it quits again.

    Darn Skeeter Pee!

I only moved these to the carboy when I added the juices with the flavoring. I've been trying to get this Skeeter Pee going for weeks now. I didn't think it would ferment that much more, but it really took off with the added juices. So should I move it back to the buckets and start adding the...
