    A,R,L for sake/saki

Quick question.... Has anyone used Angel Rice Leaven for there Sake? I read a few posts on other forums saying you still need to add yeast. On YouTube videos they say the the rice flour ingredient had a wild yeast strain so you don't need to add yeast. Before anyone bangs on about fungi and...

    Strawberry, Raspberry and Lime

As a side note... If you drink it as soon as it cleared it has a very blackcurrant taste. Its drinkable but you really want to leave it 2 weeks for it to mellow and get the Berry flavours find there place.

I did it in a 25 liter bucket and filled it to the 25 liter line after all other ingredients where in. As I said before you don't need nutrient or energizer...... Turbo yeast is all you need there. It is essentially over pitching yeast and nutrents so adding anymore is over kill.

    Strawberry, Raspberry and Lime

Last entry. All done. 3 products out of 1 run. And they say men can't multi task 😏👍 Not much to say. I could have let the wine clear for longer but the football is on tonight so want some drinking. Cider is a typical hard cider. Caught the yeast stress early enough to not effect it. The brandy...

    Strawberry, Raspberry and Lime

For examples sake. After about 4 hours of clearing. Its drinkable at this point so you can pull some for a little tickle. The rest obviously you leave to clear properly and allow flavours to mellow

    Strawberry, Raspberry and Lime

Update. The wine hadn't quite finished on day 7. I was getting a reading about 1.020 so I gave it a day and did it again with a reading of 1.010. And then again a day after. I decided to transfer it to another bucket and give it a round of degassing and add some Campden tablets to stall the...

Beginners problems 101 (add your tips and tricks)

Not that this is a wine specific tip. AliExpress is really good for some brewing supplies. An Atc refractometer on Amazon is £17 Down From £24. On AliExpress the same product is a little over £6.50. Most of the stuff you find on Amazon is from China anyway, you just giving someone a stack. Of...

Beginners problems 101 (add your tips and tricks)

Who's talking about cooking anything? I was talking about bringing it up to temperature. Yeast has a point where it will just sit there dormant if it's too cold. You will also stress the yeast. Ideally you want to be between 20°c-26°c. Yes you can go lower if the yeast allows but it's a slower...

Beginners problems 101 (add your tips and tricks)

I'm not going to lie... I was hoping that this thread would be filled with great little tips passed on by the old brewer's like crushed egg shells to clear your wine, tomato paste as nutrients or things like that rather than a discussion on what constitutes as activity in wine. Not that I don't...

    Dry hoping wine?!!!

I saw an article recently about a wine company starting to dry hop one of there wines. I would be lying if I said I read the whole thing but I'm very much interested to see if anyone has done this successfully

Nope. You won't need it with turbo yeast. Turbo yeast is essentially over pitching yeast and nutrents anyway. Adding anymore would be over kill

Beginners problems 101 (add your tips and tricks)

I thought I might start a thread of basic beginners problems and solutions since I see the same issue's again and again. The big one is.... "It's been a day and nothing is happening" So before you do anything else, in the bath or sink run some warm water and give your fermentation bucket a...

    Strawberry, Raspberry and Lime

Another update. Same day. The cider or apple wine is now fermenting really well. Unfortunately it's giving off sulphur (egg smell). I have been really lucky in general and not really had to deal with this in the past but it's due to stressing the yeast. I have added a 3rd of a teaspoon of...

    Need recommendation for roll labels

For the sake of example I just got this. Vs what I cost online. Exact same product... Half the price. And the expensive one was on offer apparently. 😐

    Need recommendation for roll labels

AliExpress is the way to for things like that. Do shop around on there, you can easily think your getting a good deal and find it half the price later from a different seller. Unfortunately in the world we are in now most of the stuff you think was made in your home country was made in China...
