    Question for Minnesota folks

Wow I must be showing my age, I thought all water was organic:? well I guess that water they made on ships when I was in the Navy could count as non organic but heck you could tell by the shine of the fuel oil on top. ::

Square Copper Non stick pan opinions?

I picked up a few of the copper colored frying pans to replace some older teflon pans that were scratched really bad. They were inexpensive and feel cheap, nothing like my all clad but hell they were $20.00. Good for making omelets And nothing seems to stick

    Campden tablets before bottling

The problem I have with the powder and again this is just me and not ment as any type of slam. I think most people buy by the pound or 1/2 pound and well for most folks that is bunches of tsp spoons and I think the powder will lose it strength and potency by the time its only a 1/4 of the way...

    Campden tablets before bottling

What I would do is crush the tablets to fine dust (1tablet per gal) put that in a clean carboy and rack the wine into that carboy let it sit for a day or 2 then bottle into clean, sterilized bottles. Again this is what I would do with my wine.:db

    Pepperoni

Thought I would try my hand at making Pepperoni. Have been on a hunt for the perfect pizza since I retired from the Navy 20 years ago, still haven't made it:h. But you do need pepperoni for a topping and store bought, well some is ok. I used the recipe from CHARCUTERIE by Michael Ruhlmman &...

    Gett'n old - barrel lifting

I feel your pain, getting old sucks. I use my Buon Vino mini jet to rack all my wine.(about 35 gal per year) I bi-pass the filters and just use the pump. Takes about 15 min to rack a 6 gal carboy and have been using it for almost 20 years so a little care in cleaning goes a long way:h

    Deer deterrents

It is deer season. The best deterrent other than a fence is to shoot them. I have all my vines with cordons on the next to the top wire. The deer seem to leave them alone, any green mid-wire and lower is gone. I think the lights and noise would work for a FEW nights then back to normal. The...

    How long is too long.
