    Persimmon wine settling when chilled

Quick & Easy Plum Wine - And Here We Are I back sweetened with a cup of sugar per gallon. You have to let it age at least a year. I don't add the raisins. I pretty much use this basic recipe for all the wines I make. I also don't use a hydrometer, I kinda just "use the force" 🤣

    Plum and blackberry wine

i've never used a hydrmeter, i kind of just "use the force" lol. i've had good luck so far with the last batch of sand plum wine 2 years ago and the persimmon from last year. the blackberries are going to add an interesting flavor i think. i'll keep this thread updated.

    Plum and blackberry wine

5 gallons. it was like 20 lbs fruit, 16 lbs of sugar, 5 gallons of water split between the 2 buckets. each got a pkt of the yeast. i needed to be able to pick them up and slosh them around twice a day, which is why i split it between the 2 buckets. i rack next monday, 2 weeks after going in the...

    Plum and blackberry wine

The sand plum tree only gave me 9 lbs of fruit, so i used the 4.5 lbs of blackberries from the freezer we picked in summer and bought 7.5 lbs of red plums at the store. Going good so far, awesome color and the smell from the airlock is yummy! See pics.

    green gage plums?

thank you so much for this info! i'll look it over this weekend when i have time. the wild sand plum tree has already bloomed and i'm worried. i live near tulsa, outside sapulpa. i didn't know that european trees tend to bloom later, this would be good for around here.

    green gage plums?

thank you all for the help! none of these came up in a google search :( i was beginning to think i was going to have to ask my friend laurent who lives in lyon, france to eat some plums and send me the pits so i could get a tree that way. hard work, but also fun. i'm planning a spot for the...

    green gage plums?

thanks so much beano for finding this! that's a bit pricey for me at the moment, so i'm going to wait for next season to start with a smaller tree. it's only $19.95 for shipping to oklahoma, which is surprising as i was expecting a lot more.

    green gage plums?

i recently stumbled upon this type of plum in a book, and was wondering if anyone had made wine with them. i'm in oklahoma, and so far i can't find where i could purchase a tree. does anyone have any ideas or maybe a place i could look. stark bros used to carry them, but they don't anymore...

    Wild Persimmon Wine

2 weeks since move from fermentation buckets. Re racked. Color or opaqueness still different, not sure why as i used the same process on both buckets. I'll re rack once a month until clear. It will probably be April or May before this happens, i like to go as natural as possible with wine. As...
