I am making a saskatoon (service berry), blueberry mix. I'm a bit short on berries so I am going to supplement with a little concord grape juice. Should I puree my berries before-hand, or just thaw and squeeze? Thanks

Yep, I stabilized it first. Sorbate and Kmeta. I just waited until after adding it to add my fining agents.

So, I did it, and it tastes awesome! I added it before the clearing agents and it still cleared almost perfectly overnight. For my 6 gallons, I did 2 cups Country Time and 2 cups sugar. Perfect mix of lemon and sweetness.

I have a batch of skeeter pee that I started last week. It has fermented wonderfully and is sitting at 1.001 now. Should be done fermenting by the weekend. I was thinking the Country Time lemonade powder would just give my Skeeter Pee that little lemonade boost. Has anyone done it? How much did...

I didn’t realize you can use superkleer more than once! I figured if it didn’t work the first time, that was that.

Phew! One more question though, what about it being Skeeter pee and needing more nutrient and juice added at SG 1.05? Will it mess up my batch if I miss that?

Help!! I JUST started a batch of Skeeter Pee in the fermenter, and we have been invited to visit family for the weekend. Staying home is out of the question, as my kids are bouncing-off-the-walls excited to go to Grandma's house, but what about my wine? I'm worried the skeeter will go sulpher-y...

So if you havent made it since then, what is your favourite now? I am loving the ease, taste, and affordability of skeeter, but I am looking forward to days when I can afford better ingredients.

I feel like I am the only one posting on this forum lately! Anyway, does anyone else leave their dragon blood dry? My batch is currently nearly cleared, and we have tasted it. It tastes like a not-quite ripe raspberry. Very tart, berry flavoured, the alcohol is a strong hit in the sinus though...

My Dragon blood has been fermenting hard for 6 days. I have it sitting on a heat register that only gets warm. It is already under SG 1.02 so I imagine it will finish up today or tomorrow. It also is not very cloudy! I added bentonite at the beginning and I plan to add Kieselsol and Chitosan...

Yum.. I have a gallon of Banana/pineapple fermenting away right now. I used 100% pineapple juice in a carton (I forget the brand, maybe Dole) that had no preservatives. I had to stop myself from drinking it before fermentation it smelled and tasted so delicious.

I mean, couldn't it be called something a bit more appetizing? Lol What do you call yours when offering it to friends?

Trying out this recipe! I'm on the first-day steps, but I have to wait until tomorrow to get my yeast energizer. Should I try throwing some bentonite in there too? At the same time as my yeast?
