Any help identifying what this may be?

I had something (well really close to this picture) and I was looking for a photo I took - probably 2 phones ago so I stopped looking. My pale clump, after my coroner style inspection, was actually a grape skin. Not sure how "it" made it into the secondary or why it transformed the way it did...

    Hi all

Welcome! Found this forum 2 years ago and the people here have saved gallons and gallons of my wine from a sad journey down the drain. I rack my wine when it is at or just under 1.010. I use my test equipment, wash it, sani it and put it away (then wash and sani it again before the next use)...

    The great white wine competition

FedEx ~ home pick-up ~ $31.50. I was not kidding when I wrote this was an amazing opportunity for me to get honest feedback without spending a lot of of money on entry fees and I took full advantage. Can't wait for the notes!! Thank you again.

    stupid fruit fly

I've always used vodka - I checked all the airlocks before I left for a week and when I returned out of 12 airlocks only the apple had fruit flies in it. I have never used a Kmeta solution but I will give it a try - thanks.

    Tap water vs bottled

I am also blessed with amazing well water. Another perk in beer making - its so darn cold going through the chiller the wort cools down wicked fast.

    stupid fruit fly

Saw this post and since I have had some fruit flies about as of late decided to check all the wines. I never knew fruit flies were attracted to cheap vodka :) I have a dz wines going and the only airlock with these pesky flies was the apple ?? Pretty much thinking I have some darn good apple...

    The great white wine competition

Once again I'd like to say thank you so much for offering this opportunity! Love my friends & family......& random people I get to try this or that but they really don't give me feedback aimed at making me better at this craft. I want to make really good wine in the comfort of my own home and...

    Pepperoni

I just bought Charcuterie: The Craft of Salting, Smoking, and Curing (Revised and Updated) by Michael Ruhlman yesterday. We started making our own sausages this summer and pepperoni is next on the list. We felt we needed a go-to book and selected this one so it was nice to see it referenced!

    Hydrometers I have broken

I break at least one or two a year so I started keeping one in reserve. Didn't break one for over a year until I loaned my spare out to a friend who just started wine making and didn't have one yet - of course I'm all like please, no, please...just borrow my spare until you order one........I...

    Hello from Northern VA

Welcome James! I love 1 gallon batches!! I hit the recycle center for my glass jugs - apple cider season so there is quite the supply. I have 5 gallon batches going now from leftover fruits. I think I need to remind my husband how much money I save him! Enjoy!

Since I live in a very rural area I really enjoy participating in our downtown Trunk-or-Treat. Had such a great time playing the grave digger. Happy Halloween!

    Satsuma Wine?

Gotta hijack and ask: I made a similar wine (orange) that I wanted to turn into a orange chocolate dessert wine. It took 18 mos before it was something I was confident I could make anything drinkable out of. Several times I almost dumped it - my notes contain some very colorful adjectives to...

Other What's your favorite Cab Sauvigon kit??

Perhaps pre-order a Master Vintner Limited Edition 2016: La Vie Cabernet Sauvignon. It won't be close to a 2013 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon BUT the love and personal touch you give it will make it priceless!

Does any one recognize this plant?

They look just like chock cherries - not a delightful wanna-be cherry but not deadly. Maybe not but they really look just like a bush in my mother-in-laws front yard in NE. I have a 3 gallon batch in progress that I'm blending with a sav blanc.

    The great white wine competition

John, Joe & your judges how do you want to taste the wines? Present them how you would want your wines to be presented. This is your event and it wasn't stated it the guidelines so you decide. I for one can't thank you enough for this opportunity to get feedback for just shipping cost. Thank...
