Yeah, I finally saw it and I will probably get it or the mini powered one on my next order seeing as I just placed an order last night. I watched the video on it, George sure has some clear wine to begin with. I guess I am wanting to cheat a little and get the big particulates out of my fruit...

I have not seen the gravity filter. I have flirted with thinking about using a coffee filter in a funnel. I have a couple of "Jumex" juice gallons going and there is ¼ of a gallon of "stuff" hanging out in the bottom of the bottle. I really should have strained that juice before I started it...

Are any of yall using the bentonite? Are you likeing it? I've noticed that is appears to be the most economical way to clear wine. When I did my Island Mist kit it has isinglas. That stuff started working right away but it looks like you have to buy a package for every wine that you want to...

    A nice wine experiance.

Funny you should mention that. I have been investigating it. Right now though, I have 3 projects that seem to be eating up my time and I need for them to settle down then I can get into the beekeeping. I've got 3 seperate gardens, cows coming, 1969 tractor getting restored, and I still have to...

    A nice wine experiance.

Being this close to Houston, most everybody here is working in Houston or in Pasadena at the refineries. Some have animals but I dont see many gardens. I seem to be the only one that has a garden of any size. I am very serious about my watermelons and I know I am going to have some setbacks due...

    A nice wine experiance.

To set this scene I need to be descriptive of the people in my neighborhood. We are a fairly even mix of Whites (thats me), Blacks, and Hispanics. Us Whites might be the low number. Anyway, after I had bottled the Island Mist Blackberry Cabernet I gave my immediate neighbor who is Hispanic (and...

    Strawberry Wine Question

A couple of days ago I found strawberries on sale for $5 a case. Each case had four plastic containers holding 2 pounds of strawberries each for a total of eight pounds a case. I scarfed up on those cases. I have a 6 gallon batch going now that I used 24 pounds of strawberries in. I also have 24...

    Different Fruit Wines

Weird thing about the fresh strawberry recipe, that 1 gallon batch has a LOT of sediment in it. I will take a picture of it tomorrow to show yall. I mean it looks like an abnormal amount of sediment. Of course with my limited experiance I could be wrong but the other recipes that I started on...
