    second pack of yeast?

    I accidently added a second pack of yeast to my 5 gallons of Welch's wine today.. It was added 2 days after the first pack.. Did I ruin the batch??

    Potassium metabisulfite solution mix ratio?

    Just wondering here what does this do?? [I throw in a few whole campden tablets, pour in a couple cups of water and cork the carboy. Swirl it around a little and put under the counter for storage. I clean with one step when I am ready to use it again. ]

    IF I understand correctly, I can just let the tannin out & the wine will be ok but change the taste.?.?. We don't drink tea so I have none of that here either~~

    I started Vintner Fruit Juice Can = Cherry.. It is still fermenting.. In the directions, it called for tannin to be added. But I have none. MOF, I was just searching the web what tannin was?? How important is adding this? Will I ruin the wine if I do not add it? :confused:

    I am double checking myself here... After getting home I noticed I had bought both a bottle of campdon pills & a bag of potassium metabisulfite.. Isn't potassium metabisulfite just grounded up campdon pills?? Or are they 2 different things??

    I know what you mean.... I am learning alot here too.. Just today I finally got the whole sugar/yeast/alcohol thing completely set in my mind.. They also seem to have alot of patience here with people like myself that doesn't pick things up as quickly as other!! ;)

    I started a 1 gallon Welch's grape juice recipe [got from this site].. So far, it seems to be doing real well except it has a strong taste alcohol taste.. My question? if I add less sugar I will have less alcohol, right?? (on next batch I mean)

    I am making the welch's grape wine [from recipe on here & also 1st try at making a wine other then a kit] Please correct me if I am wrong - after adding sorbate - no matter what I add to wine I don't have to add more sobate?? [added no more yeast]
