    Flex tanks

duh, sorry i'm late answering this one, but we continue to use the 70 gal flex tanks after 10 years. Great for blending and pumping out of. Cleaning is now easy with One Step and hot water. We did use a soda ash solution for some nastier stains and it worked fine. We did a full flush after cleaning.

Opening a winery and vineyards--lessons learned?

Although we like the J Lohr Pure Paso (nationally distributed), we were able to get some wines available just from the winery. We REALLY like Turley and have re-ordered another 6 bottles already.

Opening a winery and vineyards--lessons learned?

We focused on the small wineries and the products only available at the winery. We didn't want the wines that we could pick up at home.

Opening a winery and vineyards--lessons learned?

we are really digging the Paso AVA right now, especially the Zin and Zin blends. We just dropped a couple of shiny pennies for 10 cases from 14 wineries. We are already reordering more. What sold the wines were not only the craft of the wine, but also how the sale was made, particularly sitting...

Opening a winery and vineyards--lessons learned?

if you don't already know, having a winery is a LOT of work. A LOT OF WORK. 1. get your wines made and make them so that they can be replicated (vintage to vintage noted). 2. LEARN how to sell those wines. Make sure you are telling the customer what they will be tasting BEFORE they taste it...

    Elderberry wine

we do an Elderberry wine, but since we are making 55 gallon batches at one time, we source the 100% elderberry single strength juice. Careful when backsweetening as the wine will give off a vitamin flavor. After fermentation, the wine will obviously be kinda tart, so our trick for this is to add...

    Our first Wine show....

thanks for those positive words Chris!! Although the main goal was to have a tasting room and bigger production area, we are learning from friends that the overhead costs and relying on employees may not make this dream in our cards. Our CPA advises against it. We are of the mindset of "if it...

    Our first Wine show....
