    Carboy bladder

Thank you for your comments. To solve this, you can push out air until you see fluid raising in the tube. Then, let out air from the bladder until there is no fluid in the tube. Then you can remove the tube and replace it with an airlock. Or you may just mount an airlock on top of the tube.

    Carboy bladder

Since I use box-shaped carboys, I have made a carboy bladder that will minimize the air headspace. What do you think about this? It has two tubes with faucets attached. One tube to inflate the bladder, and one tube that indicates when all air is pressed out. As a bladder, I use a plastic...

WineXpert Need advice! Secondary in fermenter bucket

Ok. Thanks. Seems like the fermenting went a bit fast, since it's on 0.994 after 8 days of fermenting. Then I will just skip "secondary fermention", and jump to "stabilising and clearing". And I will transfer it to a smaller container. I think I just misread the instructions...

WineXpert Need advice! Secondary in fermenter bucket

Hei. I need your advice in this matter... I'm making a WinExpert red Temperanillo with grapeskins. I'm not planning in storing the wine for more than 6 months. It has been fermenting for 8 days. The instructions say to rack over to a 23 liter carboy for secondary fermentation. Then I shall...

    Question about ageing in bag-in-box

Thanks for your advice. I use to re-use my bags. Is this a bad thing? Or do I get "new" 6 months every time I sterilize it and put in new wine?

    Question about ageing in bag-in-box

Hi. I prefer to age my wines in bag-in-box. It's an easy way for me. I usually age my red wines 6-12 months before i drink. But my question is: When I age wine on bottle there is always some air in the bottle. I believe this air helps the wine age faster. When I fill up my bags, should...

WineXpert Need advice for red wine kit with powerful taste

Hi. I like red wines with strong powerful taste, like Rioja Faustino. Is it possible to buy wine kits that gives a powerful wine? I've tried Nonne Noir Rioja and La Mancha Rioja, and they were "okay", not so powerful in taste. I'm considering a Winexpert kit with grape skins, maybe this...
