Finer Wine Kit Finer Wine Kits

Hey all, regarding the new Ultima kits, be advised that the directions have changed and are different than the usual FWK process. You do not add the sulfites right after fermentation, they added a two week settling and racking step before doing so. Just wanted to call this out as if most are...

Finer Wine Kit New Limited Edition Kits Drop

I'll chime in....Like @winemaker81, I too was part of the Beta on these Ultima kits. I just this weekend bottled a Cab and Petite Syrah (8 months bulk aged in carboy). With two kits of each, I ended up with 25 bottles of each varietal (not 30 as anticipated). When I saw the price on the...

Finer Wine Kit FWK carboy vs Flex

I would say the difference wasn't so much flavor as it was drinkability. The flex tank version was smoother, tannins were settled, and overall more enjoyable.

My tank is 15 gallons, I just add 3/4 tsp every two months

Finer Wine Kit FWK carboy vs Flex

Ok, so I have noticed something that I thought I'd share with you all. I have a FWK Cab Sauv / Merlot blend that I bottled a month ago after aging it 14 months in my Flextank. The same was aged in a glass carboy as well. Wow, no comparison imo! The Flextank allowing for micro oxidization...

WineXpert WE Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel

Is it a Private Reserve or lower end Classic kit? Lower end kit may be ok by then, a higher end kit will need more time IMO.

Other Pick my next white wine (poll)

Personally, I wouldn't pick any of the three options. I don't care for these lower ends kits and would opt for a FWK Riesling or En Primeur White Trio instead. But, if these were the only options....Riesling as CRU is a higher quality kit IMO

    Finer Wine Kit New Fruttas!!

@winemaker81, I am not so sure about that..,I know from chatting with Matteo that they use grape blends in there. Perhaps some fruit and "fruit flavoring" or concentrate as well. Point being that they are for sure not 100% fruit concentrate.

Don't let that stop you, just replace the yeast and it'll be fine...pasteurized juice has a very long shelf life.
